A tag has been placed on your user page, User:IPMConnect1974/IPM (International Partners in Mission), requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be blatant advertising which only promotes or publicises a company, product, group or service, and which is a violation of our policies regarding acceptable use of user pages; user pages are intended for active editors of Wikipedia to communicate with one another as part of the process of creating encyclopedic content, and should not be mistaken for free webhosting resources. Please read the guidelines on spam, the guidelines on user pages, and, especially, our FAQ for Organizations.

If you can indicate why the page is not blatant advertising, contest the deletion by clicking on the button that looks like this: Click here to contest this speedy deletion which appears inside of the speedy deletion ({{db-...}}) tag (if no such tag exists, the page is no longer a speedy deletion candidate). Doing so will take you to your user talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also edit this page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would help make it encyclopedic. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. I am One of Many (talk) 08:00, 13 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Your account has been blocked indefinitely from editing Wikipedia because it appears to be mainly intended for publicity and/or promotional purposes. If you intend to edit constructively in other topic areas, you may be granted the right to continue under a change of username. Please read the following carefully.
Why can't I edit Wikipedia?

Your account's edits and/or username indicate that it is being used on behalf of a company, group, website or organization for purposes of promotion and/or publicity. The edits may have violated one or more of our rules on spamming, which include: adding inappropriate external links, posting advertisements and using Wikipedia for promotion. Wikipedia has many articles on companies, groups, and organizations, but such groups are generally discouraged from using Wikipedia to write about themselves. In addition, usernames like yours are disallowed under our username policy.

Am I allowed to make these edits if I change my username?

Probably not, although if you can demonstrate a pattern of future editing in strict accordance with our neutral point of view policy, you may be granted this right. See Wikipedia's FAQ for Organizations for a helpful list of frequently asked questions by people in your position. Also, review the conflict of interest guidance to see the kinds of limitations you would have to obey if you did want to continue editing about your company, group, organization, or clients. If this does not fit in with your goals, then you will not be allowed to edit Wikipedia again.

What can I do now?

If you have no interest in writing about some other topic than your organization, group, company, or product, you may consider using one of the many websites that allow this instead.

If you do intend to make useful contributions here about some other topic, you must convince a Wikipedia administrator that you mean it. To that end, please do the following:

  • Add the text {{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}} on your user talk page.
  • Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with a new username you are willing to use. See Special:Listusers to search for available usernames. Your new username will need to meet our username policy.
  • Replace the text "Your reason here" with your reason to be unblocked. In this reason, you must:
    • Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the edits for which you were blocked.
    • Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked.
If you believe this block was made in error, you may appeal this block by adding the text {{unblock|Your reason here}} below, but you should read the guide to appealing blocks first. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 10:18, 13 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Reason Good afternoon. Thank you for your message. This is my first time making a Wikipedia page and I was just playing with the format and what could be possible to put in. Much was going to be rearranged/deleted before we published it. I am certainly trying to oblige by your guidelines and not advertise. I am new to the organization, thus can write it in a way that is not jaded. We are a nonprofit organization trying to use this to celebrate our 40th Anniversary (2014) by showing what we have been doing over the 40 years through our Immersions and the people we help. If you could please help to make this page possible we would appreciate it. If you would please consider our position. Thanks.

Decline reason:

Sorry, but Wikipedia is not an appropriate platform for celebrating your anniversary or promotion of any sort. --jpgordon::==( o ) 19:08, 27 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Dear Jpgordon: Thank you for your respones. I am hoping that I can get some assistance in building our first page. We want a page with simple info: (1) name; (2) history; (3) what we do; (5) the type of people we help; (6) small space about CEO. Is this possible to have this page; I am trying to do what other orgs are doing. I am trying to learn the proper system. However, I could use some guidance. We are a non-profit that wants to share our info-however it is hard not to promote. This is where I can use your help. --jpgordon::==( o ) 19:08, 27 November 2013 (UTC)

{{unblock-un reviewed | 1= New username IPM (International Partners in Mission) | reason= Dear Jpgordon: Thank you for your response. I am not sure how to change our username. Our name is International Partners in Mission, but we go by IPM. How do I change this? Also, I am not sure I understand the link; I think it is a bit offensive. Is there anyone I can just call to get help?]]

  • The very first block message, in the pink box, outlines how you can propose a new username. For one last time, you cannot have a username like the one you keep proposing. It cannot be your organization's name in any way, shape, or form. It cannot. Not. Daniel Case's exasperation is perfectly understandable: please read the above messages carefully and act accordingly. Your reason here: Thank you for your explanation. I did not understand that the log-in name is the same as username. I understood that username was Wikipedia page. Ok, so the name username is JMPS1794. Thank you.

Decline reason:

Based on the comments throughout this talk page, I think that even if the username is changed, you will try editing about your company in promotional ways. That is unacceptable per policy around here. only (talk) 10:14, 25 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Here are a few key questions:

You are currently blocked because your username appears directly related to a company, group or product that you have been promoting, contrary to the username policy. Changing the username will not allow you to violate the three important principles above.  Ronhjones  (Talk) 14:35, 16 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for your response. I am not sure this is quite fair thought. I have been trying to get assistance in putting together our first page and edit it down after the first remark; however, I have never had this opportunity. Perhaps we can have the opportunity to edit it so it follows the rules. For 2 months we have been blocked from any opportunity to speak with anyone or edit any of the document. if you would please consider our request to edit our page to meet the guidelines before blocking our request that took 2 months to get fixed. Thank you.

See, it's this "we"," us", "our thing that makes me believe your purpose here is to edit only for promotional ways on behalf of a company. only (talk) 03:44, 9 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
