Welcome

[edit]

Hello ImageCreator89 and welcome to Wikipedia! We appreciate encyclopedic contributions, but some of your contributions do not conform to our policies. For more information on this, see Wikipedia's policies on vandalism and limits on acceptable additions. If you'd like to experiment with the wiki's syntax, please do so in the sandbox (but beware that the contents of the sandbox are deleted frequently) rather than in articles.

If you still have questions, there is a Help desk, or you can click here to ask for help on your talk page, and a volunteer should respond shortly. You may also find the following pages useful for a general introduction to Wikipedia.

I hope you enjoy editing and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. Feel free to write a note on the bottom of my talk page if you want to get in touch with me. Again, welcome! VVikingTalkEdits 13:19, 23 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Welcome to Wikipedia, and thank you for your contributions. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, please note that there is a Manual of Style that should be followed to maintain a consistent, encyclopedic appearance. Deviating from this style, as you did in Religion in ancient Rome, disturbs uniformity among articles and may cause readability or accessibility problems. Please take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. See MOS:BCE Flemmish Nietzsche (talk) 11:16, 3 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

That's not true, CE and BCE can also be used. Stop lying, ImageCreator89 (talk) 12:23, 3 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, both are acceptable, but if you had read the MOS page, you would know that changing era style from one way to the other across an entire article just because "I don't like this way and think it's biased" is not an adequate reason; any article, unless a very good reason is given, should stick to whatever era style is already being used in that article. This includes every article using "BC" and "AD", which should stay with the same era style. Flemmish Nietzsche (talk) 12:27, 3 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hello, I'm Flemmish Nietzsche. Wikipedia is written by people who have a wide diversity of opinions, but we try hard to make sure articles have a neutral point of view. Your recent edit to Religion in ancient Rome seemed less than neutral and has been removed. If you think this was a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Flemmish Nietzsche (talk) 11:23, 3 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Please do not use styles that are nonstandard, unusual, inappropriate or difficult to understand in articles, as you did in Religion in ancient Rome. There is a Manual of Style, and edits should not deliberately go against it without special reason. Thank you. Materialscientist (talk) 12:27, 3 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
