Your message for me in the summary line of your edit on Kozhikode page.[edit]

Hello. Firstly its true the term Malabar (strictly colloquially and not officially) refers to the northern districts. However this is also true that Malabar came to mean the northern districts (Kerala excluding the Travancore and Cochin kingdoms) only when the English established themselves in South India around 1800 ACE. And that term ceased to exist from 1956. The entity was Malabar district for those 1.5 centuries and was a part of the Madras Presidency along with Tamilnadu and southern parts of both Karnataka and AP.

Secondly Malabar (or Malabar coast or Malavaaram), for millennia, meant entire Kerala and Kanyakumari district combined. Kerala's etymology you may be aware is from Cheralam (or Cheramandalam). Entire Kerala along with Kanyakumari and Tamilnadu and southern parts of AP and Karnataka was Tamilakam/Dravidanadu for several millennia prior to 1800 ACE. So any of those terms like - the western coast of Tamilakam or Malabar or Malavaaram or Malabar Coast or Cheralam or Cheramandalam - mean entire Kerala plus Kanyakumari.

Thirdly "Malabar" does not have a single unified distinct culture with the remaining state having another single distinct unified culture. Not even remotely. Sure minor cultural differences exist that change km by km and each district has something different to a limited extent. The origins of the Kolathiri dynasty based in Kannur district, lie in Thiruvananthapuram district, being as they are a long-separated branch of the Thiruvithamkur dynasty. Which is why Thiruvithamkur still adopts from Kolathiri. Numerous other such associations exist straddling the entire state. Cultural differences are far stronger along the lines of religion and then caste.

Fourthly and lastly my summary was directed at two (or possibly the same) editor(s). You are probably unaware of the goings-on on almost every district page of Kerala especially the northern ones. If you can check out the edits of two users - Kambliyil and Boschanot. This Kambliyil has used at least two or three socks and as many or more ips constantly adding "information" without any proper sources and removing well-referenced information. Among many other disruptions, he was constantly adding a "region" crap in the Infobox (the box at the beginning of an article), as though it was something *official*. Multiple Admins have stepped in and banned all his accounts and sock ips completely. If you know about one member of the iuml in 2014 making a demand for a separate state comprising the northern districts of Kerala from Kasaragod to Ernakulam and Nilgiris and Kodagu district to form a new state you would have understood what these crooks were up to.

Wikipedia is not a propaganda site and that had to be made clear to these users. And Kerala will remain one unified state and entity within the one Union of India till kingdom comes. Those with pipedreams like above should know that those are just that - pipedreams. Anyway sorry if my clarification got too long. Regards. NYCLover2016 (talk) 18:28, 16 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I did not know about these incidents. I didn't add the 'Region' attribute back, by the way. Indielov (talk) 01:13, 17 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

This is a standard message to notify contributors about an administrative ruling in effect. It does not imply that there are any issues with your contributions to date.

You have shown interest in India, Pakistan, and Afghanistan. Due to past disruption in this topic area, a more stringent set of rules called discretionary sanctions is in effect. Any administrator may impose sanctions on editors who do not strictly follow Wikipedia's policies, or the page-specific restrictions, when making edits related to the topic.

For additional information, please see the guidance on discretionary sanctions and the Arbitration Committee's decision here. If you have any questions, or any doubts regarding what edits are appropriate, you are welcome to discuss them with me or any other editor.

@Kautilya3 I think your DS alert is the valid one. The alert above given by @AuamladoC is not logged properly with the DS edit tag and thus won't show up in the history logs. I believe they just copied the wikitext from somewhere else. Someone whose 3rd edit being alerting DS is suspicious beyond AGF reasoning. Investigating Malabar rebellion's history might shed some light, but ya — DaxServer (t · m · c) 18:13, 22 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, Indielov,

Please review WP:BLP as you violated our policy on living persons. According to one media report, there is a suspect in this case but you wrote that the suspect actually committed this crim and said it was terrorism where the rest of the article states that the motivation for the fire was unclear. Violations of BLP guidelines can result in a loss of editing privileges so please do not do this again. A suspect is presumed innocent until they are convicted of a crime and you can't say, in Wikipedia's voice, that someone has committed an act of terrorism when this is just a suspicion. Thank you. the said suspect's terrorism links were affirmed by security agencies. I did cite an article from a very reputed media house from the region on this Indielov (talk) 03:25, 10 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
