Welcome!

[edit]

Hello, Information About YT, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions.

I noticed that one of the first articles you created or edited was Draft:Saladifier, which appears to be an article about yourself. Creating an autobiography is a common mistake made by new Wikipedians—as this is an encyclopedia, we wouldn't expect to have an article about every contributor. Your user page, however, is a great place to write about yourself, making sure to stay within user page guidelines. Just click your user name at the top of the screen when you are logged in, and edit it normally.

The page you created about yourself may well be deleted from the encyclopedia. If it is deleted and you wish to retrieve its contents, don't hesitate to ask anyone from this list and they will copy it to your user page. If your contributions to an existing article about yourself are undone and you wish to add to it, please propose the changes on its talk page.

Here are some pages that you might find helpful:

MfD nomination of Draft:Saladifier

[edit]

Draft:Saladifier, a page which you created or substantially contributed to, has been nominated for deletion. Your opinions on the matter are welcome; you may participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Miscellany for deletion/Draft:Saladifier and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~). You are free to edit the content of Draft:Saladifier during the discussion but should not remove the miscellany for deletion template from the top of the page; such a removal will not end the deletion discussion. Thank you. DGG ( talk ) 03:37, 16 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Help request

I understand why'd you think this would be an autobiography, but I can assure you it isn't. Saladifier is just a youtuber that I found

Howdy hello! I understand the article may not be autobiographical (although thats often how these types of articles are), but the article is problematic nonetheless. In order for an article to be on Wikipedia, it must be notable. This 400 subs just isn't suitable for inclusion on Wikipedia. Even channels with hundreds of thousands of subs are often not covered on Wikipedia. I don't mean to discourage you, but your article will probably be deleted. But while you're here, I invite you to explore the other parts of Wikipedia! Editing Wikipedia can be a fun and rewarding exercise, and I wish you the best. Smooth sailing, Captain Eek Edits Ho Cap'n! 03:49, 16 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]
I am trying to make multiple articles on different small youtubers, and Saladifier is just the first one. I understand that it isn't notable, but I am not finished. I still have quite a bit I would like to do and I will make it more notable. Also, it is my first article and I plan to further improve it (which is needed). Here on Wikipedia, notability (see WP:N) is usually established by independent media coverage. Usually a subject must have been covered in newspapers, news sites, or books in order to be on Wikipedia. This is because all content on Wikipedia must be verifiable (see WP:V). That means every statement must have come from a reliable source. Those sources are usually prominent journalism outlets for things like YouTube channels. Using someone's YouTube channel as a source for their own channel is not usually acceptable. Making articles from scratch is usually hard, as most notable things already have coverage in Wikipedia. Its much easier to edit existing articles, as many articles on notable topics are quite short and in need of editors like yourself. Captain Eek Edits Ho Cap'n! 04:07, 16 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Very Well. Is there a way to know when the draft will be deleted?
Not for certain, but likely within a week. In the future, you don't have to use a "help" template, as I have this page on my watchlist so I can see when you post new questions. Also, remember to sign your posts using four tildes. Captain Eek Edits Ho Cap'n! 01:54, 17 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Draft:Saladifier, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator.
