Being a Tottenham lad, thought you might want to check this small piece (I'm doing bits on North London watercourses now and then). Lee tributaries are not well served right now. Certain there's plenty more to say, but wanted to just get the bare bones description up there. Tarquin Binary 20:45, 3 February 2006 (UTC)
- well done!! I´m not sure there´s much I could add IsarSteve 11:42, 8 February 2006 (UTC)
Tottenham Cemetery
[edit]Found two more shots and put them on the Commons (most others are of lakes etc), plus the blitz memorial (trying to always upload those, must have forgot this one). Be nice to do that Tottenham Cemetery entry, have to be in research/writing mood, though. Tarquin Binary 22:40, 8 February 2006 (UTC)

Dixon
[edit]Alright mate! are you lol becos you remember the joke? I thought it was 'evening all til I saw some old episodes and was amazed when he said Good evening! Even the BBC site has 'evening, so I called them and they said they would rectify it. I spoke to a really nice bloke - in the end we both just ended up laughing like drains saying "Evening all" to each other! I hope he doesn't get into trouble 'cause all their calls are recorded! Cheers.Lion King 19:13, 11 May 2006 (UTC)
Wotcha!
[edit]Alright Steve? Thanks for the message on my page. Just in case your'e feeling a little homesick, I've sent you a little story wots bin writ proper![1]Be lucky, Lion King 22:26, 13 May 2006 (UTC)
Cheesecutter! God I've not heard that for years. Only people of our age or older would remember them, nobody would know what the hell you were on about these days. My big Bruvver wore a cheese, black with silver pinstripes and if I remember correctly it had a silver buckle at the back to make it fit tighter, I can't ask him, sadly he's no longer with us. I'm glad you liked the story, you don't have to be a Millwall fan (it's a dirty job, but someone has to do it!) Just a London Boy! I think it was much the same, North, South East, East London then, different world eh? Whilst I'm here, can you tell me which is Yiddish- Shtumm or Stumm? I was told that Stumm without the H was German is that right? Take Care, All the best, Lion King 15:20, 16 May 2006 (UTC)
Thanks for that Mate! I was just going to do one thing and log off - great timing! All the best, Lion King 20:37, 16 May 2006 (UTC)
Hello mate alright? ere guess wot - I've just received a call from BBC Information about Dixon. It seems we were both right. When the show started in 1955 he said "Good" evening all - but was changed to 'Evening all in the early 70's! 'mazin innit? Hope your'e well. All the best Lion King 16:48, 24 May 2006 (UTC)
I'll give you LOLLOL! And wot's a North London boy doin' drinking on my manor? Yeah I know the Ship & Whale, it's in Gulliver St. It's changed quite a bit since you were last in Steve, serves lots of grub, family Bar B. Q's and the like now. I'll ask 'round after "The Dragon". When we go to football, we use the Duke of Albany. Now, that's not changed. Just beer, cheese rolls and Millwall fans - if it wasn't for our patronage it would have closed down years ago! Thanks for putting your web page up - Blimey, no wonder you live there! Looks like paradise! London, (the West End not withstanding) is getting really bad now, in all sorts of different ways. Dirty, high crime (another two people shot on the street today) Nothing like when we were kids - God, I'm starting to sound like a boring old git now! And I'm only 48! Good to hear from you, be good! All the best, Lion King 21:17, 25 May 2006 (UTC)
Wotcha Mate! Yeah he was a Ted! He left home when I was a litl'n. I was telling the other geezer porkies he's not me grandad he's me Dad! I'm the baby of The family, I was the little suprize! Sorry this is taking so long I'm typing with one hand, been playing too long, got RSI injury left wrist-Doc says got to rest it for at least 24hours, have got ice pack on it now! Cheers Lion King 22:12, 25 May 2006 (UTC) LOL! Be Lucky, Lion King 22:23, 25 May 2006 (UTC)
The only pub I can think of that you are referring to would be the "Cliftonville Tavern"?? I've never frequented the place myself but it's the only pub that I know in Ilderton Road. Or maybe the Montague Arms? I think we may need me other bruv on this one - he's 56 but we are not speaking at the moment! BTW why shouldn't you say "bent as arseholes"? Free country innit? I must admit you got me stymied with "Irene" - I've not heard that one! As for my playing I'll play anything I get paid to do. I didn't laugh at Marvin Gaye as I love Motown although I don't play it, cos I can't sing it you have to be a proper vocalist, I just howl down a mic! I don't know where "there you go" comes from although you do sometimes hear people say it. I would be very interested to know how you think London has changed in the time that you were last here. I think you will find that it has changed a great deal and in some ways not for the better! As for the patois you can't understand a bloody word they are saying half the time. "Innit" for instance is now used as a term of agreement, anything you say will be met by innit, innit! All the best.Lion King 17:04, 26 May 2006 (UTC) P.S. Me rist's a lot better! :)
Blimey I din't realise you'd be away that long! Things have really changed, frinstance:[2]. The Apple has been gone for years, I think your'e gonna have a big shock when you visit! BTW, have you noticed our "user against haters" wotsits ain't visible anymore? All the best Lion King 21:46, 1 June 2006 (UTC) Wotcha Steve! Yeah the football's really good, pity some of these dim - wit editors on this site ain't! They are starting to do my nut in! Still at least Tim Cahill put two in for the Aussies today same old story, always have to sell our best players! Hope you are well too, it's nice to hear from someone with some grey matter in their bonce now and again. Take care mate, all the best. Lion King 18:16, 12 June 2006 (UTC)
Here (Prussia & Poland)
[edit]Since you believe that Poland has withdrawn the sentence from its consitution that guarantees freedom of sexual beliefs as stated here I´m thinking of the rampant anti-semitism in Poland today and the withdrawal of rights (apartheid conditions as you call them, right now!) for Gay people in Poland..very similar thoughts to those of Nazi´s wouldn´t you think? I would like to help you. You can contact this organisation and inform them of this event: http://www.echr.coe.int/ECHR/EN/Bottom/Contact/ European Court of Human Rights Council of Europe 67075 Strasbourg-Cedex France Tel: +33 (0)3 88 41 20 18 Fax: +33 (0)3 88 41 27 30 I urge you to issue a complaint there, before insulting my country again on Wiki. --Molobo 21:28, 25 May 2006 (UTC)
You can also adress Council of Europe. I am sure they will throw out Poland if your revelations are true. --Molobo 21:34, 25 May 2006 (UTC)
it´s fine by me if you want continue the debate here, I presume you don´t want others to see what your real views are?? Your Minister Prasident recently visited the City where I live and insulted me and many others by having the audacity to question my Lifestyle... He should learn to behave himself when he is abroad. As for Strasbourg, I´m sure they already know about the situation in Poland. IsarSteve 21:40, 25 May 2006 (UTC)
He should learn to behave himself when he is abroad I only saw him being attacked by a rude mob of people ? Did he attacked and screamed at them earlier ? He seemed quite calm though. Perhaps he exhausted himself earlier in some attack of his own ;) Cheers(are you sure you don't want contact Strasbourg ?, after all I hear for the very first time that we withdrew any rights for anybody, this is a schocking news).
--Molobo 21:43, 25 May 2006 (UTC)
There wasn´t a mob, and why shouldn´t they be angry when a foreigner tells them how to live in their own country? IsarSteve 21:47, 25 May 2006 (UTC)
- A one honest about his beliefs :) I am actually surprised, there are a lot of things to criticise Kaczynski, but feeling insulted because somebody is criticised your lifestyle seems...well somewhat strange. But perhaps its our cutlural differences.
--Molobo 21:53, 25 May 2006 (UTC)
As you might know the German President has since been in Poland..and fortunately he knows how to conduct himself.. IsarSteve 21:48, 25 May 2006 (UTC) Well after WW2 I doubt there will be a president of Germany able to say something against Poles if he doesn't want a diplomatic scandal. --Molobo 21:53, 25 May 2006 (UTC)
You really have a victim complex don´t you...?? just as many Germans suffered through the war as people in other countries, they are not, and have never been allowed to have any pity, because of what their politicans did.. They have to grin and bear it.. It´s about time you tried too. This doesn´t mean anyone should deny or forget what has happened... Poland also suffered because it was forcibly moved westwards...Poles are living in German homes and White Russians are living in Polish homes.. Just try and cool down. I´m not a German, but I get sick and tired of the same old story.. I´m proud to live in Germany today, which is a very very Democratic Country which stands up for Human rights and knows what its duties and responsabilities are. IsarSteve 22:05, 25 May 2006 (UTC)
White Russians is the term for faction fighting against Bolsheviks in Russian Civil War. :) And anyway after 60 years these are Polish, Ukrainian and Belarussian homes. Cheers. --Molobo 22:07, 25 May 2006 (UTC) I´m proud to live in Germany today, which is a very very Democratic Country which stands up for Human rights and knows whats duties and responsabilities are And meanwhile forbids Polish parents to teach their children Polish seeing it as "socialy harmfull". Cheers ;) --Molobo 22:07, 25 May 2006 (UTC)
I don´t know where you get that rubbish from ..please enlighten me and the rest of the world.. All I can imagine you are refering to is that fact that Germans are beginning to realise that foreigners who want to live permanently in Germany, should be able to speak German. No spoken German = No Job chances... As a matter of fact I know Polish people who live in Germany and they all speak very good German, all this rubbish..were all the books you read pubished before 1989?? LOL IsarSteve 22:13, 25 May 2006 (UTC)
No, after 2000 :) --Molobo 22:17, 25 May 2006 (UTC)
can we continue another time?? I have to go to bed now!!IsarSteve 22:22, 25 May 2006 (UTC)
I doubt the discussion is constructive in any way. Let's not waste Wikispace. --Molobo 22:28, 25 May 2006 (UTC)
You´re right, I think your views are rather "cast in steel" and it´s not really worth the bother.. IsarSteve 23:42, 25 May 2006 (UTC)
I rather doubt you will ever befriend Kaczynski so the feeling is mutual ;) I wish you good sleep. --Molobo 23:54, 25 May 2006 (UTC)
MFC
[edit]Prize-winning? A R Driver 23:57, 11 June 2006 (UTC)
- I seem to remember MFC winnning an architectural prize around 1970/71. Well you wouldn´t believe it now, but MFC was considered revolutionary at the time, due to the way the living space was divided into two levels.. Unfortunately, I don´t Know the name of the prize..IsarSteve 00:05, 12 June 2006 (UTC) http://www.isarsteve.de/blog/
It's believable. Was there a plaque, perchance? A R Driver 22:49, 13 June 2006 (UTC)
- I´m not aware of one, but there may have been. IsarSteve 09:06, 14 June 2006 (UTC)
Blimey, That Made Me Jump!
[edit]Wotcha mate! you got yer eyes on early! nice bein' famous eh? (lol) Cor the old footie's 'otting up innit? Do you realise there could be a England/Germany final - Again! Mind you, unless Rooney comes good, I don't think we'll make it without Owen - fancy that pillock only taking 5 stikers eh? Hope your'e well Steve, be lucky mate, Lion King 08:28, 22 June 2006 (UTC)
Hi Steve! Just got your message, hope you enjoyed your visit, and were not too upset by the lack of CRS being spoken. Yes, It is a shame that it's dying out - I think you hit the nail on the head when you said that people have been made to feel ashamed to admit to their working class backgrounds, we used to be the "salt of the earth", now it's "the scum of the earth" but maybe that's just my take on it? No, you wouldn't be considered a wally for saying jam jar, you'd just get a vacant look, and they'd say, "can I help you playse"! (lol)
I wasn't that suprised by our performance, I knew we'd had it when Owen went down. And as for the flags coming down, if anything, round our way, they put more up!(innit!) I was sorry the German's went out though, I would have liked to see them win it (I mean that, reely!) Anyway mate nice to hear from you, look after yerself. All the best, Lion King 21:29, 8 July 2006 (UTC)

Ello Mate! Long time no hear! Yeah, the hump is over, I just needed a little break from people taking issue with the simplest of things! Drives me bleedin Radio Rental! Hope all's well with you Steve, take care, Lion King 14:25, 10 October 2006 (UTC)
Hi. I see you started this article but didn't finish it, so I did it up for you. If there's anything missing, feel free to add it.--sonicKAI 20:50, 20 October 2006 (UTC)
Thanks for your message. I saw you finished 248, I´ll do 106 until 1984, after which I´m not much good. I enjoy doing the early London Bus stuff, but I´m not really up to date as I now live in Germany. Oh and by the way the image on the 106 is not quite right.. --IsarSteve 20:54, 20 October 2006 (UTC)
I know. Only one of East London's buses has it's name on it (it's currently being used on London Buses route 48) as they were all Stagecoach London. I'll add the gallery so you can see. --sonicKAI 20:58, 20 October 2006 (UTC)
I'd like to do the 48 soon, in a previous life I worked as driver - driver/operator on the 48 as well as 38, 69, 55, 236, 230, 235, 206, 97A, 269, 2B, 11, 269 & N96--IsarSteve 21:07, 20 October 2006 (UTC)
Sounds good, but I'd advise not doing Night buses yet. I created a layout available at User:web_kai2000/London Buses route layout if you want to do those articles. One thing though: They have to be the current routes. --sonicKAI 21:14, 20 October 2006 (UTC)
yep I know, I´ve added a previous route section to cover the old routes, see London Buses route 5, London Buses route 39 ....is that OK? --User:IsarSteve 21:17, 20 October 2006 (UTC)
Looks great. --sonicKAI 21:24, 20 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit]Alright Mate? Can you help me out please, I need to cite a book on the Millwall F.C. page, but I dont know how to put it in, because it has no refs on it at all and I've never had this situation before, If I give you the ref would you put it in please? Lion King 23:03, 2 November 2006 (UTC)
- That will be fine Steve thanks! I need tou to revert to the version that says: "Millwall fans are blah, blah,.....only 100% commitment is acceptable" and cite: Eamon Dunphy, Only A Game? Diary of a Proffesional Footballer, Penguin UK 1987 ISBN 0140102906. Cheers Mate, hope your'e well. Lion King 17:16, 3 November 2006 (UTC)
London Buses route articles
[edit]Thanks for completing the photos... I can't do that as I don't know how to transfer the images from the London Bus routes site. I've also updated the route history .. but haven't included the proposed extension to Shepherds Bush..--IsarSteve 19:48, 14 November 2006 (UTC)
- No problem, but if you create any more of these articles, let me know by adding them to my to-do list. You don't have to, but I try to conduct general maintenance every so often.--sonicKAI 20:30, 14 November 2006 (UTC)
- OK, I'll do that.. but how can I transfer the template to a new edit.. e.g. I'm itching to do the 42 but I#m not sure how to start with a template..??--IsarSteve 20:33, 14 November 2006 (UTC)
