Previous accounts[edit]

Hi, while I do appreciate your work dealing with PROMO and NPOV issues, I do think WWB Too raises fair questions about how you are currently a single-purpose account focused on that article. You also seem to have a lot of experience with Wikipedia and are citing policies on COI/PAID that I wouldn't have known the redirect for. I'm just curious if you have had previous accounts before this. If you haven't no worries. If you have, and this is a clean start, I'd encourage you to disclose to the arbitration committee. TonyBallioni (talk) 04:55, 15 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Fair question. I have experience with MediaWiki markup because I am admin of a non-English language corporate law wiki. I got most of the information about WWB_Too and COI/PAID by a simple Google search "William Beutler paid editing", eg. this #3 hit and this #2 hit and reading old discussions involving WWB_Too. Being admin of another wiki I was very surprised to encounter such hostility to addition of content from very good sources so I posted this and suspected some coordination. My interest in Saylor is privacy related as MicroStrategy is the main external dataminer partner for Facebook and there's the FCC net neutrality decision. I have no previous account but is possible that other people in my employer law firm edit wikipedia. As private international law expert I grasp "conflict" policies much faster than most. That’s fair: I’ve gone ahead and requested a checkuser at Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/JDLaw, because I think your account has a relatively similar pattern to another account that has been interacting with WWB Too, and that his concerns should be heard out there. At the same time, i think you should be heard out as well because this sounds like it could plausibly be an explanation. I think you can probably tell I also have concerns with the objectivity of paid editing, but as an administrator, I also do my best to be fair to all users and raise plausible concerns. Thank you for your responses, and I do mean that. TonyBallioni (talk) 06:19, 15 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Why am I blocked ?[edit]

It appears that I am blocked by a admin Bbb23 who says With the addition of the two accounts, I'm not as sure that the scope of this case is limited to anti-WWB Too sentiment. Other than aggressive, disruptive editing it's tough to find behavioral connections between all four accounts. However, the technical evidence is strong, the methods being used to edit are unusually suspicious, and whatever qualms I have about blocking in these circumstances are outweighed by all of these accounts being a net detriment to the project. Blocked and tagged. This case should be moved to ModiBhakt786, the oldest account

So the basic premise of the SPI request that WWB_Too is being stalked and harassed is flawed ? I can squarely say that I don't know any of the accounts listed in the sockpuppet investigation or who operates them. What does Bbb23 mean by the methods being used to edit are unusually suspicious ? Working at a leading law firm "Remfry" which has 11,000+ international clients I am editing from behind an advanced corporate firewall which complies with national privacy requirements of our clients, have you considered this ? At best this SPI indicates that other individuals at my workplace also edit wikipedia. Israelpetersen (talk) 04:19, 16 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]

A kitten for you![edit]

This kitten is awarded to you for the marvelous edit summary "Resolved potential copy issues using online tools". That was funny!

Request reason:

I have no other account at wikipedia. I have only used wikipedia in not-disruptive way to improve project. As mentioned before the SPI begins I work at a very large international law firm with advanced privacy firewalls to comply with international privacy norms especially of European Union countries which is confusing the SPI operator into linking my account with other accounts which likely be within my law firm or my law firms firewall operator. I have no personal enemy to WWBToo and SPI result shows that as all the accounts linked in SPI are not directed at WWBToo and not linkable by behaviour so they must be of different persons. My edits arent aggresive/disruptive. The SPI result is definitely wrong in my case and I may be unblocked to continue to edit at Wikipedia in a policy way compliant with rules and laws. Decline reason:

I see no evidence that any of the accounts are operating behind advanced privacy firewalls. Declined. —DoRD (talk) 13:10, 18 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]
