Abandoned Shipwrecks Act

[edit]

I have reverted your edits on Abandoned Shipwrecks Act because it introduced non-neutral language and uncited claims which clearly indicate that you have come to Wikipedia with an axe to grind. Wikipedia is not the place for you to express your frustration over the interpretation of this law. WikiDan61ChatMe!ReadMe!! 16:25, 3 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hello, I'm WikiDan61. I noticed that you recently removed some content from Abandoned Shipwrecks Act without explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an accurate edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry; I restored the removed content. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks! If you disagree with the content of the article, raise the issue on its talk page. WikiDan61ChatMe!ReadMe!! 17:13, 3 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Had you said that you were removing material because the cited source is not reliable—and is unallowable under Wikipedia guidelines—this whole situation might have been avoided. —C.Fred (talk) 17:52, 3 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Please do not add commentary or your own personal analysis to Wikipedia articles, as you did to Abandoned Shipwrecks Act. Doing so violates Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy and breaches the formal tone expected in an encyclopedia. Thank you. WikiDan61ChatMe!ReadMe!! 17:22, 3 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Again, I'll suggest that if you disagree with the present content of the aritcle, you enter a discussion at Talk:Abandoned Shipwrecks Act. Your use of the terms "eco-zealot" and "those with agendas" indicate that you have your own agenda. Your point may well be correct, but you will not win the point by trying to bludgeon the readership with it. Make a cogent argument at the talk page as to why you think the article's content should be changed, and cite some sources to back up your position. But if you continue to add such inflammatory language, you'll find yourself blocked. WikiDan61ChatMe!ReadMe!! 17:26, 3 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Your actions are being discussed at WP:ANI

Warning icon Please stop your disruptive editing. If you continue to violate Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy by adding commentary and your personal analysis into articles, as you did at Abandoned Shipwrecks Act, you may be blocked from editing. --- Barek (talkcontribs) - 17:42, 3 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Stop icon Your recent edits to User talk:WikiDan61 could give Wikipedia contributors the impression that you may consider legal or other "off-wiki" action against them, or against Wikipedia itself. Please note that making such threats on Wikipedia is strictly prohibited under Wikipedia's policies on legal threats and civility. Users who make such threats may be blocked. If you have a dispute with the content of any page on Wikipedia, please follow the proper channels for dispute resolution. Please be sure to comment on content, not contributors, and where possible make specific suggestions for changes supported by reliable independent sources and focusing especially on verifiable errors of fact. Thank you.

To be allowed to continue to edit, you must retract the legal threat you made at User talk:WikiDan61. This is with respect to edits to Abandoned Shipwrecks Act.C.Fred (talk) 17:43, 3 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Mr. Sweeney, stating that "if you do such and such, we won't sue" is not a retraction. You are not allowed to edit while threatening legal action. Please retract your legal threat, and work with the editors here to get consensus on what the wording should be. --SarekOfVulcan (talk) 18:14, 3 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Also, your use of the first person suggests that you work for a company involved in this area, so you have a conflict of interest. You should acquaint yourself with those guidelines and best practices when you're editing a topic that you have a professional connection to. —C.Fred (talk) 18:42, 3 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. When you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion (but never when editing articles), please be sure to sign your posts. There are two ways to do this. Either:

  1. Add four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment; or
  2. With the cursor positioned at the end of your comment, click on the signature button ( or ) located above the edit window.

This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is necessary to allow other editors to easily see who wrote what and when.

Thank you. --SineBot (talk) 18:38, 3 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]
