Speedy deletion nomination of Charles Tagg
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Charles Tagg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, you can place a request here. Mkdwtalk 21:35, 30 April 2013 (UTC)

Charles Tagg
[edit]First, may I apologise for an editor who I think is rather young. I have warned him. Now, the article. There could be room for an article - but not this one. This is worded as a memorial, and we don't carry memorials. As an encyclopaedia, we need a neutral tone (see WP:NPOV). We also insist on referencing to independent reliable sources. Writings by the subject are not independent (and in many cases rather less than reliable...). Look at WP:RS for more info. Have a think about it, and see if you can find some RS. I can restore the article if/when it is deleted, and put it into your user space. Unfortunately, the editor I usually ask to help people is out of town for a couple of weeks, so I'll have to do for now. One problem I can see is that 'assisting with' isn't really notable. Designing the thing, yes. Putting it together, no - unless a major contribution to redesign was made at the time. It's Chiefs that get articles, not Indians. Usually because all the articles elsewhere are about the chiefs... Let me know here - I've put this page on my watchlist. Peridon (talk) 22:14, 30 April 2013 (UTC)

- Please understand, as has been explained to you multiple times before, the nomination of your article about your grandfather for deletion is in no way intended to say that your grandfather was not a good and wonderful man. Just that he doesn't merit inclusion in this encyclopedia. We are not creating a memorial site here; there are many other places where you can post your personal memories about your grandfather. Here, we are creating an encyclopedia, based on verified facts, which are verified based on their publication in reliable sources. Your grandfather's involvement in the early development of GPS might be notable if it can be verified. If he was just one of 350 engineers who build the first GPS satellite, that probably isn't notable. (Believe me -- I'm an engineer also: I know how these projects happen.) If he were the engineer who conceived of the GPS system (a feat that is generally credited to Roger L. Easton), that would be notable. But I'm afraid you haven't given us any facts which add up to an encyclopedia article. WikiDan61ChatMe!ReadMe!! 13:12, 1 May 2013 (UTC)
Retaliatory editing
[edit]Retaliatory editing, such as this and this, wherein you proposed articles for deletion with no given rationale, apparently based on the fact these two articles are identified as articles to which I have contributed and your desire to retaliate against me for the deletion of your article about your grandfather, is bad form, and will do nothing to further your cause. I have tried to be understanding of your situation, and patient in my explanations. Please try to remain civil in your actions here at Wikipedia. WikiDan61ChatMe!ReadMe!! 13:43, 1 May 2013 (UTC)

Multiple accounts
[edit]You are suspected of sock puppetry, which means that someone suspects you of using multiple Wikipedia accounts for prohibited purposes. Please make yourself familiar with the notes for the suspect, then respond to the evidence at Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Jacobjakielaszek. Thank you. - Please do not misuse multiple accounts to remove deletion tags from articles you have created yourself or to give a false sense of support for your articles. Furthermore, please note that Wikipedia is not a memorial site and as such will not host memorial articles. Thank you. Reaper Eternal (talk) 15:18, 1 May 2013 (UTC)
