Phair
[edit]I've placed a section about Phair onto Wikipedia's Admin Noticeboard. Feel free to visit it and leave a comment. A user evading a block is one thing, attempting to use it to tamper with an RFA vote is another matter entirely. Daniel Davis 06:15, 4 April 2006 (UTC)
Deletion of image on V for Vendetta
[edit]Hey, I noticed you got rid of the image text after it was deleted, did you by any chance delete the actual image? If so, what were the reasons, and how come I wasnt warned? Cheers Cvene64 12:14, 4 April 2006 (UTC)
- Actually don't worry. I figured it out. Only attrib and sharealike...hmm thanks Cvene64 12:24, 4 April 2006 (UTC)
- Yeah I have sent messages to the appropriate people on Flickr, so hopefully that will be ok. Anyway, thanks for the help. Er, also I have around 20 other images using that license, would you want to delete them (I can get a list), or should I post them at the IFD? Cheers Cvene64 14:16, 4 April 2006 (UTC)

Hi, MONGO and I are attempting to bring this puppy to featured article status. Could I inquire assistance and a second opinion...?
And, on another note, I've been engaged in a discussion on my talkpage regarding the addition of spam to video game articles here. You might be interested in such nonsense creeping into the encyclopedia and such insertion of your opinion would be loveley. -ZeroTalk 11:24, 7 April 2006 (UTC)
- The first thing to do on that article is to add a fair use rationale to the images. I'll get on that. jacoplane 11:40, 7 April 2006 (UTC)

Video game release dates
[edit]Sorry, I wasn't the one who updated the dates. I'm the one who added the update tag. The sources for the article should be in the top-right link called "CVG NEWS SOURCES". Unfortunately most of those sites are blocked from where I do most of my editing so I'm not able to update it myself. 0:) --TheKoG (talk|contribs) 12:10, 7 April 2006 (UTC)
Image copyright problem with Image:HowardStringer.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:HowardStringer.jpg. However, the image may soon be deleted unless we can determine the copyright holder and copyright status. The Wikimedia Foundation is very careful about the images included in Wikipedia because of copyright law (see Wikipedia's Copyright policy).
The copyright holder is usually the creator, the creator's employer, or the last person who was transferred ownership rights. Copyright information on images is signified using copyright templates. The three basic license types on Wikipedia are open content, public domain, and fair use. Find the appropriate template in Wikipedia:Image copyright tags and place it on the image page like this: {{TemplateName}}
.
Please signify the copyright information on any other images you have uploaded or will upload. Remember that images without this important information can be deleted by an administrator. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me, or ask them at the Image legality questions page. Thank you. Shyam (T/C) 13:48, 7 April 2006 (UTC)

[edit]Thanks for updating my userpage:-)
And as for the Alizée article, it is becoming a bit tough to find verifiable sources, as she has been out of media coverage for around two years now. I guess we might have to wait till she returns with her new album.
Have a nice day. --Soumyasch 05:03, 8 April 2006 (UTC)
I don't want to drown out the discussion at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Computer and video games with AWB details, but from what I could see, AWB is skipping pages that don't yet exist. It looks like the AWB people have agreed to add an option that will not skip non-existent pages. I'm not sure when the update will be released, but whenever it is, we should be able to crank through these (there's ~3750 left to tag). --Interiot 07:55, 9 April 2006 (UTC)
- Ok, sweet. I'll keep an eye on this. Thanks for pointing it out! jacoplane 09:40, 9 April 2006 (UTC)
- They released a new version yesterday, looks like it's working great. :) Also, since there are 3500+ of these to do, it would be good to encourage others in the wikiproject to use AWB... There are incredibly hard-working people spending days doing this manually, it'd be nice to save them some time. --Interiot 09:53, 10 April 2006 (UTC)

Hi, in the Alizée article, I have used the {{TOCleft}} template as a lot of space was wasted in the previous layout. But, I cant decide which format looks better. Could you please take a look and comment on the new layout? Thanks in advance for putting up with this annoyance. --soUmyaSch 20:42, 15 April 2006 (UTC)
VandalProof 1.1 is Now Available For Download
[edit]Happy Easter to all of you, and I hope that this version may fix your current problems and perhaps provide you with a few useful new tools. You can download version 1.1 at User:AmiDaniel/VandalProof. Let me warn you, however, to please be extremely careful when using the new Rollback All Contributions feature, as, aside from the excessive server lag it would cause if everyone began using it at once, it could seriously aggitate several editors to have their contributions reverted. If you would like to experiment with it, though, I'd be more than happy to use my many sockpuppets to create some "vandalism" for you to revert. If you have any problems downloading, installing, or otherwise, please tell me about them at User:AmiDaniel/VP/Bugs and I will do my best to help you. Thanks. Vote #7: Removal of voters with only votes as contributions

Ref converter 2.0
[edit]You are receiving this message because you are on the Ref converter spamlist
With bated breath after much work I am proud to announce that Ref converter 2.0 has arrived. This new version properly deals with all ref labels and note labels, as well as multiple refs linking to the same note. There's also some miscellaneous bug fixes. I had to rewrite a good portion of the Ref converter from scratch, but it was worth it! The older version is no longer accessible online. Please give the new version a whirl, and of course, if you run into any bugs, leave a bug report! --Cyde Weys 04:27, 17 April 2006 (UTC)
Tagging IP addr as shared
[edit]Hi, I edit from a shared IP address (220.225.53.35). The IP is registered to DA-IICT [1]. Yesterday someone else User Talk:Anshumsaxena did a vandalizing edit. And the IP was blocked, blocking me as well. The block has been undone now, by the way. But, could you please tag the IP as shared so that admins will take caution while blocking the same. I am not sure non-admins are allowed to do so. Thanks for your help. --soUmyaSch 08:31, 17 April 2006 (UTC)
Ref converter update
[edit]You are receiving this message because you are on the Ref converter spamlist
Ref converter has been updated once again. It now takes care of Harvard references (I didn't even realize they existed). I'm still looking for input on how best to handle {{ref num}}s. I've also added some additional sanity checks to the code that should catch more potential problems. As always, if you run into anything going wrong, leave a bug report! --Cyde Weys 09:05, 18 April 2006 (UTC)

Suggestion for Alizee webpage article
[edit]Hello,
Could you put a section or link to a page for other Alizee fan page websites. I've seen a number of great Alizee fan webpages in the links section but they keep being deleted. I myself have donated to help keep Wikipedia going and do like the community based monitoring but not at the expense of other great Alizee websites. Since you have administrator rights and know how to do this kind of stuff I'm sure it would be greatly appreciated by all Alizee fans.
I'm not sure but maybe all you have to do is put a special Alizee web link to another webpage that contains other links to fansites. I know that many of us would really appreciate it and it wouldn't clog up the main Alizee article.
Thank you for your consideration. I know we all appreciate your hard work in keeping the Alizee article looking so great. Thanks again and keep up the great contributions.

Ref converter links
[edit]You are receiving this message because you are on the Ref converter spamlist
Ref converter has been updated once again. This time I have created "WikiLinks", which automatically generates a fresh list of articles with old reference styles that need converting. Just run WikiLinks, open up a bunch of the resultant links it give in separate tabs, and go through each tab one-by-one and convert those references. --Cyde Weys 06:43, 21 April 2006 (UTC)
Copyright Problem
[edit]I found your image, Image:BarnstarCVG.png, and I am afraid this cannot be GFDL. It apparently included something from Image:Nuvola apps package games.png, which is LGPL. I have relicensed it as such. If you have any questions or comments, leave me a note on my talk page. Linuxerist L/T 14:05, 22 April 2006 (UTC)

Ref num converter
[edit]You are receiving this message because you are on the Ref converter spamlist
I have just updated Ref converter to handle {{ref num}} links. I am not entirely sure of the correctness of the new code, though, so I have uploaded it as a testing version here. Please use it for now, especially on pages that use ref num, and contact me with any bug reports. If no bugs are detected by 2006-04-24 00:00 UTC then I will overwrite the old version of the ref converter with the new version and you can go back to using wikirefs.pl. --Cyde Weys 17:25, 23 April 2006 (UTC)
Image Tagging Image:Mariopeach.jpg
[edit]This media may be deleted.
|
Thanks for uploading Image:Mariopeach.jpg. I notice the 'image' page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you have not created this media yourself then there needs to be an argument why we have the right to use the media on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the media yourself then it needs to be specified where it was found, i.e., in most cases link to the website where it was taken from, and the terms of use for content from that page.
If the media also doesn't have a copyright tag then one should be added. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media qualifies as fair use, consider reading fair use, and then use a tag such as {{Non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other media, consider checking that you have specified their source and copyright tagged them, too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any unsourced and untagged images will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. ReyBrujo 18:20, 23 April 2006 (UTC)
Hi, A few days back I saw this and since have been trying to get a veification (since the audio clip seems fair enough), but failed. By any chance, can you help? --soUmyaSch 18:47, 23 April 2006 (UTC)
- I listened to the clip, and it does say that she is working on her new album. I don't think we should use this as a source in the article, though. I think we should start seeing stories in the mainstream media soon. jaco♫plane 20:09, 23 April 2006 (UTC)
