Requested Move[edit]

James

thanks for your participation, and your contributions to the Baillie Gifford Prize article.

I was very sorry to see it close in the way it did after you had so politely and carefully followed our procedures, but there was really no choice. We do not offer any organisation the option of using the names of our articles on them as part of their corporate branding and promotion. And we try to operate by consensus, and there was a rough consensus not to move the article on this occasion.

I hope that you will continue to contribute to the Baillie Gifford Prize article just the same, and that your boss will see this as constructive, and understand that you have done all that could be done to get the name changed.

Both please bear in mind too that you can still link to the article using the full name, within Wikipedia as Baillie Gifford Prize for Non-Fiction and externally as

https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Baillie_Gifford_Prize_for_Non-Fiction

and that the full name is given in both the lede and the infobox of the article. Those two are probably far more important than the URL for branding purposes, and this should all remain in place, indefinitely.

If I can help in any way, please contact me on my user talk page (or by email if you prefer). I am truly grateful for your exemplary cooperation. Most other organisations should take note. Andrewa (talk) 08:13, 7 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]
