Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Sikh, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Punjabi (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

January 2023

Information icon Hello, I'm Sumanuil. I wanted to let you know that one or more of your recent contributions to Gurdwara have been undone because they did not appear constructive. If you would like to experiment, please use your sandbox. If you have any questions, you can ask for assistance at the Teahouse or the Help desk. Thanks. - Sumanuil. (talk to me) 05:35, 8 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

What exactly wasn't constructive? The article lacks proper capitalisation. The pronounciation of the word needs to be fixed. Also the word's transliteration is "Gurdwara" Jangvijay (talk) 20:04, 9 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
(contd) Also what do you mean the edits did not 'appear' constructive? My edits are from first-hand knowledge of the subject.
1) guradu'ārā - is misleading "gurdu'ārā" is closer to the way the word is pronounced.
2) The word is spelt "Gurdwara" so needs to be consistent(see: https://www.britannica.com/topic/gurdwara, https://www.oxfordlearnersdictionaries.com/definition/english/gurdwara )
The word Guru + Gurdwara = Gurdwara as per Punjabi grammar conjugation patterns (Comparable word conjugations are: Guru + Purab = Gurpurab; Guru + Simran = Gursimran)
3) Capitalisation is needed for specific gurdwara names or titles - e.g. "Singh Sabha Gurdwara on XYZ Road is a large gurdwara". Compare Synagogue e.g. "Dohány Street Synagogue in Budapest, Hungary, is the largest synagogue."
Please restore my edits which are still in progress or apply them yourself based on the above explanations Jangvijay (talk) 20:16, 9 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
