Wikipedia and copyright

Hello Jay T M Smith, and welcome to Wikipedia. While we appreciate your contributing to Wikipedia, there are certain things you must keep in mind about using information from your sources to avoid copyright or plagiarism issues here.
- You can only copy/translate a small amount of a source, and you must mark what you take as a direct quotation with double quotation marks (") and cite the source using an inline citation. - Aside from limited quotation, you must put all information in your own words and structure, in proper paraphrase. Please do not create, maintain or restore hoaxes on Wikipedia, as you did at Kirk Douglas. Hoaxes are eligible for speedy deletion under criterion G3. If you are interested in how accurate Wikipedia is, a more constructive test method would be to try to find inaccurate statements that are already in Wikipedia — and then to correct them if possible. - Assuming you are not a total troll, this is not evidence that Kirk Douglas is dead. It is evidence that TCM paid tribute to him in 2012, when he was very much alive, and at this moment there is no source that indicates he has ceased to be. General Ization Talk 15:14, 19 September 2017 (UTC)
