There have been two problems with this account: the account has been used for advertising or promotion, which is contrary to the purpose of Wikipedia, and your username indicates that the account represents a business or other organisation or group or a web site, which is also against policy, as an account must be for just one person. Because of those problems, the account has been blocked indefinitely from editing. Additionally, if you receive, or expect to receive, compensation for your contributions to Wikipedia, you must disclose who is paying you to edit.

If you intend to make useful contributions other than promoting your business or organisation, you may request an unblock. To do so, post the text {{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with a new username you are willing to use. See Special:CentralAuth to search for available usernames. Your new username will need to meet our username policy. Replace the text "Your reason here" with your reason to be unblocked. In that reason, you must:

  • Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the kind of edits for which you were blocked.
  • Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked.
If you believe this block was made in error, you may appeal this block. To do so, please read the guide to appealing blocks, then add the text {{unblock|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page, replace the text "Your reason here" with your reason for thinking that the block was an error, and publish the page. Requested username:

Request reason:

I want to create a personal wikipedia account to contribute to articles about Greek music acts, in which I am specialized, as a fan of these acts for decades now

Accept reason:

What is your connection to 1000mods? 331dot (talk) 18:41, 23 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Very close friends of mine, just like the rest of the Greek rock music scene. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 1000mods Press (talkcontribs)

Please review conflict of interest; it's going to be difficult for you to edit about at a minimum 1000mods, if not Greek rock music as a whole. Are there any topics unrelated to that subject area you want to edit about? 331dot (talk) 19:09, 23 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I would also like to make some new articles about Greek music festivals such as New Long Festival, Off The Hook Festival, Under the Sun Rock Festival, Release Athens Festival, Los Almiros Festival and others. I'm a fan of Greek music and Greek festivals so unfortunately, that's all I have to contribute at the moment. But I'm always willing to contribute to other non-music stuff, as soon as I realize that I possess knowledge that is missing from an wiki article. Why is it difficult to edit such articles after all?

@331dot:information Note: Renamed, does the user qualify for unblock now? PRAHLADbalaji (M•T•AC) This message was left at 20:28, 23 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I'm not the blocking admin, so you should ask them; if it's okay with them it's okay with me. 331dot (talk) 20:33, 23 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@HickoryOughtShirt?4: Can you review the discussion above? PRAHLADbalaji (M•T•AC) This message was left at 20:36, 23 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@Jim Kotsis: Please review the notice below:

Information icon Hello, Jim Kotsis. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:

  • avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, colleagues, company, organization or competitors;
  • propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (you can use the {{request edit}} template);
  • disclose your conflict of interest when discussing affected articles (see Wikipedia:Conflict of interest#How to disclose a COI);
  • avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see WP:Spam);
  • do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.

In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.

Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. PRAHLADbalaji (M•T•AC) This message was left at 20:28, 23 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

If Jim agrees to follow our COI guidelines than I have no issue. HickoryOughtShirt?4 (talk) 21:26, 23 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hello and thanks for taking sometime to review my unblock inquiry. I'll make sure my edits from now on do not promote any product, individual or unit. I hope it's ok though to keep editing stuff from Greek artists which is my main field.
