Adoption request
[edit]Hello there, Jjlome! I'm Netalarm and I have been around for quite some time now. I'm messaging you because I've noticed that you've indicated that you want to be adopted on your user page. I'd be more than happy to help you find a match for an adopter. All you have to do is fill out the survey located here so I can have the necessary information to match you up. Of course, you may also choose your own adopter - the instructions to do so are also on that page. If you have any questions, feel free to message me on my talk page.
Once again, welcome to Wikipedia! Netalarmtalk 20:56, 25 September 2010 (UTC)
Adoption request reply
[edit]Thanks Netalarm. I'll go fill in that survey now. I'm really enjoying roaming around the site and finding things I can improve. Will you (or whoever adopts me) be able to give feedback on the edits and improvements I've made so far? I'm sure I've made a couple of mistakes!
- Of course! We'll be more than happy to help you. You may also place {{helpme}} on your talk page with a question below it for faster help. GorillaWarfare has adopted you, so now you have a direct go-to person for any issues. Welcome! Netalarmtalk 05:44, 26 September 2010 (UTC)
Adoption
[edit]Hello, Jjlome! Netalarm was kind enough to facilitate your adoption and he paired you up with me! I'm going to go ahead and assume that you're okay with me being your adopter, but if not don't hesitate to let me know. A little about me... I'm an administrator on the English Wikipedia (which is more or less the only Wikimedia project I edit, other than uploading files to Commons from time to time). I do mostly maintenance work (article deletion, vandal patrol, etc.) When I do do article work, it is often cleanup, expansion, referencing, or the like. Articles I create are often to do with stage lighting, but like I said, I'm usually doing maintenance. The survey that Netalarm linked me to suggests I might be able to help you out -- I understand citation well and can help you move into other maintenance topics. As for your interests, they seem pretty compatible with mine.
So I guess you should probably know how to contact me. My preferred method of communication is my user talk page. However, I am almost always on IRC while I'm editing, so if you use IRC, I hang out in #wikipedia-en
and #wikipedia-en-help
under the nick GorillaWarfare
. If you really need to, you can email me, but I much prefer the first two modes of communication.
So, tell me about yourself! What are you hoping to learn from me? What types of maintenance are you interested in becoming involved with? Why are you putting yourself up for adoption -- do you just want to improve as an editor or are you interested in eventually getting other user rights? — GorillaWarfare talk 06:03, 26 September 2010 (UTC)
- You've been inactive in the several weeks since I've adopted you. I checked your contributions and you, prior to the one day that you requested adoption, had been inactive for nine months. I'm not entirely convinced that you plan to be an active contributor to the project, so I've decided not to adopt you. If you decide that you do want to be an active contributor and want to be adopted, I'm more than happy to adopt you. However, if you only plan to be active once every nine months, adoption isn't worth either of our time. Cheers! — GorillaWarfare talk 06:45, 11 October 2010 (UTC)
