Notability
[edit]To be accurate and verified is necessary but not sufficient for a Wikipedia article: there is an inclusion criterion called Wikipedia:Notability, which is not a matter of opinion but has to be demonstrated by showing "significant coverage in reliable sources that are independent of the subject." Significant means more than just listing-type mentions; reliable excludes Myspace, Facebook, blogs, places where anyone can post anything; independent excludes the subject's own website, affiliated ones and anything based on press releases. The test is, have people not connected with the subject thought it significant enough to write substantial comment about?

Hi John, I may have just accidentally responded on your personal page. As I recall, there were a myriad of references on the page which included articles written, interviews in publications, and other "notable" elements. What would I need to do to see if this page can either be undeleted or edited for resubmission? Thanks!

Article "userfied": advice
[edit]I have "userfied" the article - moved it into a sub-page in your "user space" at User:Jordanserlin/Jordan Serlin where you can work on it. The "History" tab will let you see previous versions. For reference, Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Jordan Serlin is the deletion discussion, and user Courcelles (talk) is the administrator who closed it, and who is the person you need to approach before the article can be re-posted. I'm afraid I do not have time to check through the article and references in detail, but I can give you some general advice.
I start with a warning that you will find this more difficult than you think. Wikipedia is quite different from sites like LinkedIn and Myspace where people and organizations write about themselves. You can see from WP:PSCOI that editing with a COI is discouraged, though not prohibited, because it is hard for people to maintain a neutral point of view about subjects they are close to. You must expect your contribution to be closely scrutinized. I should also make clear that, unlike the Myspace type of site, you will not "own" any article about you, and will not be able to control its content, or insist on a preferred version, though there is help available to remove inaccuracies.
Wikipedia is quite selective about subjects: the general standard is WP:GNG, and WP:Notability (people) gives more detail and WP:Notability (summary) some idea of how it is interpreted. Number of references and number of activities described is not so important as depth of coverage - an encyclopedia article is not a CV. Anything based on press releases is discounted, and so are many interviews where the subject talks about himself.
Take extreme care not to write in a promotional tone, the quickest way to deletion. Avoid "peacock terms". Imagine a hostile critic looking over your shoulder saying "Who says? Can you prove that?" The general advice for COI editors is: put out of your mind any idea that you are writing for your subject: you are writing for Wikipedia about your subject. Don't list all the things you want to tell the world about yourself: think rather why the reader of a general encyclopedia should find you interesting, and what he would want to read.
