There has been much discussion lately in the Telegraph about Churchill's partial responsibility for the Holocaust and the Bengal Famine. He prevented parliament from hearing Hitler's offer to end the war in May 1940, even though the German leader offered to withdraw from France and Norway. Churchill also ignored Hitler's offer to end the war on 19 July 1940. Pat Buchanan and other historians have argued that Churchill's refusal to end the war led to the Final Solution, as in 1940 the Nazis were only talking about deporting Jews from Europe in the Madagascar Plan. Defenders of Churchill's actions have argued it is unlikely he could have survived the May 1940 War Cabinet Crisis had he allowed Hitler's peace offers to be debated in the Commons. - Churchill's refusal to accept Hitler's peace offers in 1940 led directly to the Holocaust. This is fact. If the UK had ended the war the Madagascar Plan would have been carried out and the Final Solution would never have happened. (JosefHe (talk) 16:43, 15 February 2020 (UTC))

It is silly for Hitler's article lede to describe him as evil when Stalin's article lede does not do likewise. It is a fact that several historians have partly blamed Churchill for the Holocaust - see Pat Buchanan's "Churchill, Hitler and the Unnecessary War" (2008). Request reason:
I am not defending Hitler at all, I am just saying it is silly for his article on this site to call him evil when Stalin's article does not do likewise. If I were accused of defending Stalin I would not get blocked. In any case the word "evil" in unencyclopedic and POV. Stalin killed millions of Jews and the British and French colonial empires exterminated millions of people all over the world. Churchill and Stalin also carried out genocide, so why is only Hitler described as evil on this site? The British Empire and the Soviet Union were built on the subjugation and elimination of entire races. In Britain's former colonies Hitler's actions are not regarded as evil.
