William Worrall Mayo[edit]

You imply in an edit summary on the William Worrall Mayo article that Clapesattle (author of The Doctors Mayo) gives inaccurate information according to your new book. A key principle here on Wikipedia is verifiability. What third-party sources can you point us to? Is your book published? If so, which publisher? Can someone help me?[edit]

This is an answer to your question. I edited the William Worrall Mayo page today. My information is from the book you have already cited on that page, "I Started All This: the Story of Dr. William Worrall Mayo" by Judith Hartzell. I am the author of that book. The Clapesattle book is an excellent resource, but she was mostly interested in the two men Dr. Will Mayo and Dr. Charles Mayo, brothers. They are "The Doctors Mayo" she wrote most accurately about. My book is about their father, Dr. William Worrall Mayo. To corroborate my edits, you could contact Matt Dacy of the Development Department of Mayo Clinic. I have already alerted him to the changes I made today on Wikipedia and he is asking the director of the History Center at Mayo Clinic to double check my entry.Judith Hartzell (talk) 01:22, 23 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

It seems you're looking for an answer from Jonathunder. You can "ping" them by adding {{ping|Jonathunder}} to the beginning of your talk page message or simply by linking to their userpage (as I did in this message) to notify them that you're replying to them. Hello. I happen to know who Matt Dacy is, and I don't doubt that you have access to very good primary sources. I also appreciate that you are willing to help improve this article. The thing about Wikipedia is that we are working on an encyclopedia that ideally depends on sources that anyone can verify (with access to a good library). Perhaps you could list the sources for your edit here if they have been published. If you use your own book as a source, can you tell us which page numbers to reference?
