• Hi Katyarose, it's time you were properly welcomed. Now, there are several concerns: you appear to be editing here pretty much as a single purpose account, or WP:SPA, which wouldn't be an issue, except that the article on Monica Germino is, in essence, a sparsely sourced press release, so I'm wondering if conflict of interest WP:COI is relevant. Additionally, it appears that you may be using several similarly named accounts to work on the article; per WP:MULTIPLE it's preferable that you use one, or make it clear that you're using several, with an explanation. I encourage you to continue editing, supporting the content you add with WP:RELIABLE sources inline, which is necessary for all Wikipedia articles, and perhaps even more for biographies of living people. Hi JNW, thank you for your welcome and your help. Thank you for telling me these things. I did not know I was using several accounts, I thought I only had one (and one other for uploading an image, as it seemed someone else had my username but now I suspect that was somehow also mine and I lost track of that...?). I think I'd better limit my activity here, at least until I get past a big learning curve. I've contributed to other pages, but minor stuff - composers- Michael Daugherty is one that I remember. I definitely misunderstood Wikipedia (I imagine that must happen a lot), I thought the idea was to have as much information up as possible and that the Monica Germino entry was very short and left out many things. Now I get it after reading more on the links. I'd like to have the warnings removed that were triggered by my faulty editing, and don't know how to do that. Any help much appreciated in removing any offending 'press-release items' and again, sorry for the clumsiness. Katyarose (talk) 11:29, 8 October 2013 (UTC)

• Joshua Bell isn't a perfect example, but it's helpful in terms of format, content and sourcing. The Germino article is too much like a resume, with name-dropping lists of people who've performed her work and the venues she's played. Is there a WP:RELIABLE source to support this information? (The subject's website is not an acceptable reference for most content). At present, the maintenance templates are appropriate, and can be removed when these concerns are addressed, even if it means removing the aforementioned passages, at least temporarily. There is a learning curve, so I wouldn't take any of this to heart. But since quality, not quantity of information is what counts, one need not hesitate to be ruthless removing and rebuilding an article until it meets encyclopedic standards. If I have time later I'll look for further acceptable sources, beyond music reviews, that can expand on her life and work. Articles about her and interviews with her will be helpful. Hi KatyaRose, Much of the content in the article was unsourced and also appeared to be a copyright violation (content copied from other web sites) so I've removed all that content and added new content per the reliable sources. The notability of the subject is also in question so we need more reliable sources per WP:RS. Hi Keithbob, Thank you for your help. Hi Katyarose, Thanks for your response. WP is a big and complicated so place it's easy to make errors when we first begin. Everyone does it. As long as we are willing to collaborate with others and are open to learning the guidelines, then everything is OK. I think the article is in good shape now. It's well sourced and in the preferred format for WP. Before there were many non-compliant aspects of both in the format and content. Here's what it looked like before Oct 7th [1]. So I'm not inclined to revert back to the old version which would undo everything since. At any rate the most appropriate thing now is to continue this discussion on the article talk page [2] and we can discuss way that we can further develop the article. Example

the basic cite format is:

author (last name first), (date of publication) [link to publication], Name of article, Name of publication, date accessed

So it might look like this:

Smith, Paul (May 1, 2011) [www.nytimes.com], All about Germino, NY Times, accessed October 8, 2013

but all of the above has to have ref at the start of the cite and /ref at the end surrounded by <brackets>

with ref brackets it looks like this: and appears like this in the Ref section
