[edit]
There have been two problems with this account: the account has been used for advertising or promotion, which is contrary to the purpose of Wikipedia, and your username indicates that the account represents a business or other organisation or group or a web site, which is also against policy, as an account must be for just one person. Because of those problems, the account has been blocked indefinitely from editing. Additionally, if you receive, or expect to receive, compensation for your contributions to Wikipedia, you must disclose who is paying you to edit.

If you intend to make useful contributions about some topic other than your business or organisation, you may request an unblock. To do so, post the text {{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with a new username you are willing to use. See Special:CentralAuth to search for available usernames. Your new username will need to meet our username policy. Replace the text "Your reason here" with your reason to be unblocked. In that reason, you must:

  • Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the kind of edits for which you were blocked.
  • Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked.
If you believe this block was made in error, you may appeal this block. To do so, please read the guide to appealing blocks, then add the text {{unblock|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page, replace the text "Your reason here" with your reason for thinking that the block was an error, and publish the page. ~ ToBeFree (talk) 19:16, 30 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I am not selling anything. I am providing information about a Chicago non-profit that provides free services or services at subsidized or greatly-reduced rates. If I am unblocked, I will be able to provide a public service by letting people know about programs and services that are available to them. By doing so, I will reduce the need for brochures and flyers and disseminate information more efficiently. Mary Keen

Decline reason:

What you describe when you state "letting people know about programs and services that are available to them" and reducing "the need for brochures and flyers and disseminate information more efficiently" is marketing. Wikipedia is not an alternative marketing platform. As this is your stated intent, you cannot be unblocked at this time.Jezebel's Ponyobons mots 00:21, 31 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I understand now the reason I was blocked and I will not perform any marketing activities. Instead, my goal is to perform education to the older adult community that my organization serves. I first plan to provide a thoroughly researched history of my organization, from the Jewish Federation study that determined that formed a Gerontological Council, to the founding of the agency I represent. Then I will proceed to explain the structure of the agency, the board leadership, its mission, values and vision. As I continue, I will add as much information as possible about the agency as I can, but just on an informational basis and not to sell or market anything.

Decline reason:

You seem to now describe in greater detail what Ponyo explained above is not acceptable on Wikipedia. "Educating your target population about your organization" is still marketing. You will not be unblocked to write about your organization. I am declining this request. Huon (talk) 01:23, 31 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I am afraid I am not describing my agency and how I hope to use wikipedia. My approach and format would be the same as Catholic Charities, Lutheran Social Services, Jewish Federation, or any other faith-bases organization. That's because my organization is just like those, a faith-based organization, formerly the Council for Jewish Elderly. We are a 501c3 and we operate like these other agencies, and they have very expansive wikipedia pages.

Decline reason:

Those articles(not mere "pages") are written by independent editors, not editors with a conflict of interest. Wikipedia has no interest in what an organization wants to say about itself. It doesn't matter if the organization does good work or is a nonprofit, or not. You are here to tell the world about your organization and we are telling you that will not be permitted. If you want to be a general contributor and edit about subjects unrelated to your conflict of interest, please tell what those subjects might be. I am declining your request; you will likely only get one more before losing access to this page. 331dot (talk) 02:22, 31 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

My reason to unblock is because I have been terribly dense and I did not understand your instructions that said "we strongly discrourage people from writing about themselves, friends, bands, webistes, companies or organization...and any other topic in which they have a conflict of interest." I sincerely confess that I did not see any conflict there, but now I do. But I do want to contribute to be a general contributor to Wikipedia because I love the platform. Some of the areas I would be able to contribute in which I have expertise because of my education, (BA in English, MFA in painting), employment and life experiences are: art and artists, grammar and word usage, international adoption, social programs, art therapy and other services for older adults, the Jewish Federation of Chicago and Jewish Child and Family Services of Chicago. As other ideas come to me, I would also make other contributions. If you would like me to be more specific, please let me know. Thank you for your consideration.

Decline reason:

No. As you aren't listening to what you've been told about WP:COI, this is the end of the line. I'm revoking talk page access. Yamla (talk) 16:15, 20 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Insert your reason to be unblocked here I hope someone finds time to review my reason to unblock from last Friday Jan. 31. The reason I request the unblock is because I originally did not understand your instructions about what a conflict of interest" is, but now I do. If I am unblocked I will immediately remove the entry about CJE. I will then add careful edits to other pages related to my training, employment and life experiences. These would be edits about: art and artists, grammar and word usage, international adoption, social programs, art therapy and other social services. Will you please consider unblocking me? Thank you.— Preceding unsigned comment added by Keensie (talkcontribs) .
I've removed the unblock request formatting(which was incomplete anyway), as you only need one open request. Subsequent comments should be standard, unformatted comments like this one, and should be properly signed with ~~~~ so we know you wrote them. Your request will be reviewed in due course; administrators are volunteers who do what they can when they can. You will need to be patient. You can use the time you are waiting to improve your request and make it more persuasive if you desire. 331dot (talk) 20:04, 3 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Hello, Keensie. It has been over six months since you last edited the Articles for Creation submission or Draft page you started, "sandbox".
