Thanks for your welcome, Kf4bdy

Your welcome message was a nice surprise on my new wikiuser talk page, K4bdy, thanks!

There's quite a lot of extremely useful information in it; I edited how it displays so I can find things in it more quickly. I hope you don't mind about that!

Customising on the idiot detail level is just part of how I'm gradually becoming accustomed to more official status since having signed up.

Many thanks from Athaenara 20:37, 16 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Need help with photo licensing tags

I don't know how to send a message directly to you, but if you could help me, I'd appreciate it.

I'm using an image from an old sports card, and I can't find the proper Wikipedia licensing tags for this. Please let me know how I go about this, or if you could make the changes for me directly, I could read what you changed and learn from that. :)

Thanks, SilverojoSilverojo 06:22, 18 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks

Kf4bdy, I appreciate the warm welcome, as it fosters a great sense of community spirit. I have been a long time reader of Wikipedia, and now I hope to be a long time contributor once I learn the intricacies of the content management system. The Esperanza group looks interesting, and the presented goals are both positive and inviting. After additional contributions to reach the qualifying guidelines, I will seriously consider joining Esperanza.

Thank you! — HeavyMetal999 06:34, 18 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Your recent edits to it has now caused it to appear in the Category:Candidates for speedy deletion. I assume you would like to keep it? Cheers. CambridgeBayWeather (Talk) 07:02, 18 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Open Theism

Is open theism your cup of tea? I recently came across it while looking thru wikipedia.

Spinoza1111 08:29, 18 October 2006 (UTC) Give me a break...first the Hitler Youth and now a religious nut...the real "vandals"

OK, that does it. Over the past year, I have made significant contributions to a facility, Wikipedia, which I suspected was going to fail in part because it was founded by a capitalist, an autodidact, and a pornographer all in one. But to be accused of "vandalism" by the real barbarians tears it, and I am going to cease ALL contributions to Wikipedia.

For your information I teach English professionally and I have used what you in your ignorance call vandalism in teaching something of which you in your benighted Fundamentalist ignorance are unaware: that languages have different worldviews and different referents.

You are the REAL vandals. I will no longer improve Wikipedia and I will FORBID my students to use wikipedia. I will blog and publish my serious concerns about the barbarism of Wikipedia which is merely a near-criminal's tool for enriching a small set of privatizers while fools like you vandalize originality, clarity, urbanity and nearly everything else that made the old Wikipedia worth while. - Unsigned by Spinoza1111 08:29, 18 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thanx for the friendly welcome.

Hi, I have a few specialties and interests and they are shared by many others, I'm sure. I'm eager to share what I've learned about these things with the rest of the group. I do disagree with some of the things I've read but haven't had the chance to contribute until now.

Thank you

Thanks for the welcome. I really appreciate it a lot.

RAMP Pictures

Hello,

I would like to confirm the sources for the following images: Ramp77.jpg, rampknowledge77.jpg, and ramp_150.jpg.

The first two are from the digisoul site that is listed at the bottom of the RAMP article page. John Manuel, bandleader of RAMP has approved this article to me personally, and is in good company with the creators of digisoul.

The images are purely to draw attention to the band's revival, and are shared freely to do so.

The third image (ramp_150) is from http://www.soulpower.info/soulpower/index.php?categoryid=9

Again, the sources all support the band and spreading the word of their comeback.

Thanks!

Don't take this personally, please

I've had to vote oppose on your RfA, not because I think you are a bad user, but rather because you are an unjudgeable user, and it seems that the others are doing the same. I have lain out the reasons in detail there. However, you show great dedication and I believe you could be successfully made an admin in the future if you interact more with the community. I would personally state that you may wish to withdraw. --tjstrf 04:27, 20 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the welcome, I'll check it out. I have a few topics which I am keenly interested in, and I hope I can put the links you showed, to good use. :-) archerblack

Hi there! Thanks for the message :)

I'm checking out some of that stuff; I just wanted to get a page up with some stuff on there for a few minutes. It's my first real page, I've just contributed to other pages in the past...

A request to protect Midnight Syndicate

I saw your passage in wikipedia:requests for page protection, and you did a fine job for goodness sakes. However, I looked at your passage, and I figured you did not look further instructions there. Rather than doing edits for you, I think you may please re-edit the passage yourself. How's that sound? --Gh87 18:33, 20 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thank You for Welcoming Me

I will sure contribute to the Wiki. Thanks

Discovery Institute

I guess I have no idea who funds the Discovery Institute. I have read other news sources that says it is funded by those of a theological bent. That's their right. Just don't be dishonest about it.

Userbox

Pass this on to User:BeefJeaunt if you will. Thanks for making that userbox that i wanted clearing up. User:Celtic Lover

Thanks for the welcome

I added the entry to try to help abate the appearance that the world before the internet didn't exist, and to fill an existing open article in Wiki related to something else I was looking for that I thought was trivial information. I'm still not entirely sure about the user contribution model as a practical objective source, but as an IDEAL I can definitely respect the potential it represents as long as it continues to self censor based on merit rather than ideology. When I find other such gaps or requests for clarification, etc, in the future I'll try to remember to contribute again if I have unusual or unlisted knowledge of such matter.

Open Theism

Your page says you have a background in religion? Do you think it's a short hand way of reflexively referring to the social sciences? If so, is it really 'religion'?

I think I have been spammed!

I removed some content from one article ini sexism that I thought was kind of equivocal and ambigious under the topic sexism, and I think the sub headeding was Anthropological linguistics. That is the only thing I have commented on, since I am only a student in porfessional writing at my University and I dont feel comfortable or confident enough to really contribute to what goes on most of the time. However, I think that because I wasn't logged in when I did that, somehow I have been spammed because I have been blocked from further edits and there are a number of things I haven't edited that have appeared on my talk page as 'vandalism'. I think it's another word for harassment but not at my hand.

Thanks a lot!

I was at quite a loss of what I was doing, but it doesn't take long to "get into the game". I still keep making some stupid mistakes so it's useful always to know more and more. I'll contact you if I have any problems! Niklas berg

Thanks for the Welcome

Greetings: I appreciate the welcome message, especially since I had no idea that registered Wikis had access to what appears to be a sort of instant messenger, and since your message denies the use of a bot (and I take you at your word) I'm guessing there must be a log somewhere that lists people who become newly registered members.

Actually, I've been nosing around the Wiki for quite some time, and felt compelled to register today on account of a sentence someone wrote which really should be revised.

Is there a way to contact the author of an article? I assume there is, but haven't quite stumbled across the method yet.

There is an infinite number of ways to think about any given situation that would make something possible. For instance if they could have foreseen this view of their beloved cartoon character I really doubt they would have made him that way.

Thanks!

Well, thanks for the welcome, Kf4bdy. Now I have someone to ask anything personally (regarding Wikipedia), if needed. Nazroon 05:00, 25 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I surely will try to keep in line with wikipedia guidelines and hope to contribute something to this great archive. Thanks for the heads up and welcoming. Have a good day!

Hi there, I took the photo. I've tried to find a way to fix the copyright info but no luck.

Thanks for the Welcome!

Kf4bdy -- Thanks for the nice welcome! I've added my name to the new user log, and will be checking out some of the other links you sent me soon. I hope to be a long-time contributing member of Wikipedia. :) BJ Nemeth 05:27, 25 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Vandalism

Kf4bdy,

Have just noticed two separate occurrences tonight of you attempting to revert vandalism and only reverting a vandalised page to a previously -vandalised- version. If you look at the history on the Richard I article and compare versions, your vandalism reversion includes a lot of vandalism (and it looks like it duped AntiVandalBot into re-adding it as well). I make the same mistake all the time, just wanted to let you know you're making it as well! No offense intended, etc. :) Ginsengbomb 05:31, 25 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hey man

why are you deleting my articles took me a long time to write up please don't delte them as they are are good.

I think the funniest thing was when he got ticked off over the way a warning was worded, and didn't seem to realize that it was actually a template warning.--Vercalos 06:41, 25 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Not Vandalism I'm afraid

Removing false and/or unconfirmed speculative material from an article is not vandalism. You should examine the circumstances and explain yourself thoroughly before jumping to the conclusion that someone has vandalised an article, sending them threats. If you would like to talk about it that's fine but take it easy. This isn't a dictatorship and I'm guessing your name isn't Stalin. 67.142.130.25 07:00, 25 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Michael J Fox:

Why do people constantly insist on making 25 to 50% of a wiki entry about some current event that will mean nothing in a week?

The info on the campaign flap should be deleted. It is insignificant in comparison to other events in Fox's career. That's why I deleted. ~~ yodawg
