Comments on FA nomination
Hello Khascall, I wanted to let you know that I nominated the article Communication for featured article status, see Wikipedia:Featured article candidates/Communication/archive1. So far, there has not been much response from reviewers. I found your talk-page comments for how to organize this article quite helpful and I was wondering whether you are inclined to have a look at it. If you have the time, I would appreciate your comments. For a short FAQ of the FA reviewing process, see Wikipedia:Wikipedia Signpost/2008-04-07/Dispatches. Phlsph7 (talk) 09:54, 9 October 2023 (UTC)
- Thanks for the ping; yes, I'll take a look. Kaylea Champion (talk) 16:55, 9 October 2023 (UTC)
- Ok, all done. Open to feedback on how to do a better job as a reviewer :) Kaylea Champion (talk) 21:34, 21 October 2023 (UTC)
- Thanks for the detailed reading and the many improvements. They help make the text more concise and accurate. I'll respond to your comments at Wikipedia:Featured article candidates/Communication/archive1. Phlsph7 (talk) 07:53, 22 October 2023 (UTC)
- As feedback on the feedback: my impression is that your review is well-rounded with many sensible and concrete suggestions. I found it specifically helpful for its comprehensive perspective to get the bigger patterns in order. This is especially an issue with articles on very wide topics like this one and I found it quite difficult to get reviewers to approach this daunting topic. One rather trivial side-note: when starting a new review, the comments are usually be placed at the bottom of the page rather than the top. Phlsph7 (talk) 12:51, 22 October 2023 (UTC)
- Hi Kaylea, and thanks for the expert review; I hadn't anticipated that we would get one for a topic like this and so appreciate it. Your copy edits to the article tightened it up nicely, and the way you did them discretely was helpful. Your overall comments were spot on. If you were to feel like repeating the process on any other FAC nominations that would be great. From your comments I got the impression that you were supportive of the promotion of the article: it is usual, but not obligatory, to conclude a review by changing the section header from "Comments by Khascall" to "Support by Khascall" or "Oppose by Khascall" as the case may be. If you felt that either of these was appropriate, perhaps you could change your review header accordingly? Thanks. FAC coordinator Gog the Mild (talk) 18:11, 30 October 2023 (UTC)
