@Blethering Scot fyi, if you see another situation like this, where there's a whole lot of pages by the same user that all need to go, there's no need to tag them for speedy deletion - just grab the nearest admin (we have a handy mass-delete button). -- asilvering (talk) 01:18, 3 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I didn't do anything wrong

[edit]

This is a misunderstanding. I never vandalized any page. Besides, the other wikis have other bad-word pages with apostrophe redirects. For example, F***. Kjjj6uhhhhh (talk) 00:12, 3 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Wikipedia is not censored. To quote the first paragraph from the policy, "Wikipedia may contain content that some readers consider objectionable or offensive‍—‌even exceedingly so. Attempting to ensure that articles and images will be acceptable to all readers, or will adhere to general social or religious norms, is incompatible with the purposes of an encyclopedia." Sirocco745 (talk) 00:17, 3 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Then why does the page F*** exist? Kjjj6uhhhhh (talk) 00:19, 3 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Because it's a common alternative to actually saying fuck, and it links to the Fuck#Common_alternatives section on the article. The redirects you've made are just indiscriminate and unnecessary. We are not required to cover every single possibility that someone searches up. If they really want to visit the article, they can search up the word instead of censoring it. F*** exists because it links to a subsection of the article where "F***" itself is discussed. Sirocco745 (talk) 00:28, 3 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Okay, I understand now. This won't happen again. Kjjj6uhhhhh (talk) 00:44, 3 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hello! Kjjj6uhhhhh, you are invited to the Teahouse, a forum on Wikipedia for new editors to ask questions about editing Wikipedia, and get support from peers and experienced editors. Please join us! Liz Read! Talk! 00:48, 9 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Hello, Kjjj6uhhhhh,
Although I agree these redirects were unnecessary, all of these notices and the deletions of pages you created must feel like a punch in the gut. I just wanted to let you know that any time editors start mass-creating redirects, they have gotten in trouble. It seems to be addictive because these editors don't create 1 or 5 or 10 redirects, they create 100! There was even an admin, Neelix, who went so overboard with inappropriate redirect creation, that he lost his admin position. There was even a specific CSD criteria that was created, just to tag the redirects he created. So, you went all in on an activity that typically leads to an editor being sanctioned. In this case, there was no block issued but your redirect creation only lasted a day, not weeks, and so, it was nipped in the bud before too many were created. But you could have faced a trip to ANI. Luckily, this didn't happen.
The Teahouse is a great place to go to ask questions about, say, the redirect policies on Wikipedia or to get ideas on what activities you might pursue next. Please see this reaction as a slap on the hand, saying, "No, don't do that" and not a message that you aren't wanted here as an editor.
If you want to ask questions, besides the Teahouse, come to the User talk page of any of the editors who have posted here recently. And, if I was you, I'd remove all of these template notifications from your User talk page. You might leave the personal messages but that's your choice. Liz Read!
