Hi!

[edit]

I've just taken a look at your article ASAIF - well done for making a good start here! There's some work needs to be done still, mainly on referencing. See this page for loads of help on that subject. I noticed that most of the references are to ASAIF's own literature; see if you can add some other external sources to the article. I also noticed that a lot of the references aren't in English, so these will really need to be replaced as soon as you can. Another thing which may need checking is that you haven't got your wording too close to the official literature - make usre that your writing is in your own words, or someone else may come along and delete it as a copyright violation!

Try to get on to these issues as soon as you can - and again, congratulations on a good start :o) Pesky (talkstalk!) 03:26, 30 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I agree with Pesky - congratulations on starting a good article. I am proposing that the title of the article be changed from the acronym ASAIF to the comprehensive name Azerbaijani Students and Alumni International Forum. See the discussion on the Talk:ASAIF page. Dolphin (t) 04:08, 30 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I agree 80.99.70.238 (talk) 11:22, 31 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

No problem, we can copy content of ASAIF into the comprehensive name Azerbaijani Students and Alumni International Forum. For now Azerbaijani Students and Alumni International Forum is redirected to ASAIF. We can do vice-versa.Konullu (talk) 11:33, 5 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The change has been made. See Azerbaijani Students and Alumni International Forum. Dolphin (t) 22:29, 6 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The article Extradition of Ramil Safarov has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Fork of Ramil Safarov

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Nomination of Extradition of Ramil Safarov for deletion

[edit]

A discussion is taking place as to whether the article Extradition of Ramil Safarov is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia according to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines or whether it should be deleted.

The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Extradition of Ramil Safarov until a consensus is reached, and anyone is welcome to contribute to the discussion. The nomination will explain the policies and guidelines which are of concern. The discussion focuses on high-quality evidence and our policies and guidelines.

Users may edit the article during the discussion, including to improve the article to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion template from the top of the article. George Spurlin (talk) 14:25, 6 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, George Spurlin, idea of the articles Ramil Safarov and Extradition and pardon of Ramil Safarov are different from each other. While former should include the biography, trial, popularity reasons of Ramil Safarov (in other words, things that happened till his extradition), the latter should include only different aspects of Ramil's extradition, pardon (things that happened after extradition). Section called Reactions are copied from the article Ramil Safarov to the article Extradition and pardon of Ramil Safarov by other users. I think that information needs to be in the second article, while the first article should give only brief info about this and link to the second one, because the reactions happened after his extradition and pardon. WP:WTA

[edit]

Hello, please be advised that terror is one of the words that Wikipedia tries to avoid, for more details see WP:WTA. George Spurlin (talk) 12:15, 7 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, George Spurlin, I checked the link that you provided. I understand that the word terror can be avoided in some cases, but I do not see any other word to replace terror here. If the category which includes dozens of articles about terror attacks and they are done by Armenians, then why it can not be called Armenian terror? This is quite popular term in the world, searching Armenian terror in Google gives about 17,800,000 results (0.27 seconds) [1] Therefore I think the category Armenian terror needs to be recovered with its full content. Sincelery, Konullu (talk) 17:17, 7 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Konullu, since the category was deleted by a discussion, it can be recreated by a discussion, if you would like to start one, please go to Wikipedia:DRV#Steps_to_list_a_new_deletion_review. George Spurlin (talk) 09:29, 10 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

Hello, I noticed that you recently created a new page, Armenian murderers released from life imprisonment. First, thank you for your contribution; Wikipedia relies solely on the efforts of volunteers such as you. Unfortunately, the page you created covers a topic on which we already have a page – Varoujan Garabedian. Because of the duplication, your article has been tagged for speedy deletion. Please note that this is not a comment on you personally and we hope you will continue helping to improve Wikipedia. If the topic of the article you created is one that interests you, then perhaps you would like to help out at Varoujan Garabedian – you might like to discuss new information at the article's talk page.

If you think that the article you created should remain separate, contest the nomination by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion" in the speedy deletion tag. Doing so will take you to the talk page where you can explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but do not hesitate to add information that is consistent with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. Additionally if you would like to have someone review articles you create before they go live so they are not nominated for deletion shortly after you post them, allow me to suggest the article creation process and using our search feature to find related information we already have in the encyclopedia. Try not to be discouraged. Wikipedia looks forward to your future contributions. Antelope Hunter (talk) 06:16, 20 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

General Sanctions

[edit]
The Arbitration Committee has permitted administrators to impose discretionary sanctions (information on which is at Wikipedia:Arbitration Committee/Discretionary sanctions) on any editor who is active on pages broadly related to Armenia-Azerbaijan and related conflicts. Discretionary sanctions can be used against an editor who repeatedly or seriously fails to adhere to the purpose of Wikipedia, any expected standards of behavior, or any normal editorial process. If you continue with the behavior on Murovdag, you may be placed under sanctions, which can include blocks, a revert limitation, or an article ban. The Committee's full decision can be read in the Wikipedia:Requests for arbitration/Armenia-Azerbaijan 2#Final decision section of the decision page.

Please familiarise yourself with the information page at Wikipedia:Arbitration Committee/Discretionary sanctions, with the appropriate sections of Wikipedia:Arbitration Committee/Procedures, and with the case decision page.

I'm sensing a lot of battleground mentality from your edits. You need to familiarize yourself with the above arbitration case and note that sanctions may be applied to you if you keep up your tendentious editing pattern. Discuss proposed changes on the talk page, cite your sources, and work to build a consensus. George Spurlin (talk) 08:04, 20 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hi George Spurlin, did I edit Murovdag?! You can check here that I have never done this. This notification has been placed mistakenly on my talk page. Konullu (talk) 22:59, 20 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Creating new categories

[edit]

Before you create new categories, check to see if they already exist. For example you created a Category:Armenians but that category already exists at Category:Armenian people. George Spurlin (talk) 13:34, 20 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Can't we use redirects for categories as well (similar to articles)? Konullu (talk) 23:01, 20 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Category:Terrorists, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G4 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be a repost of material that was previously deleted following a deletion debate, such as at articles for deletion. Under the specified criteria, where an article has substantially identical content to that of an article deleted after debate, and any changes in the content do not address the reasons for which the material was previously deleted, it may be deleted at any time.

If you think that the page was nominated in error, contest the nomination by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion" in the speedy deletion tag. Doing so will take you to the talk page where you can explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. Categories

[edit]

I think I finally figured out why you keep adding categories where they don't belong. It's because you misunderstand their purpose. You see categories are made for navigation, not to tag articles. For example, when you added Armenian people to Ottoman Armenians you created an unnecessary loop, since Ottoman Armenians was a sub-subcategory of Armenian people. You have to think about those connections before adding them to the articles. Sorry for reverting your edits. Best regards. Antelope Hunter (talk) 09:57, 7 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Antelope Hunter, now I see, if it is still sub-subcategory, then putting it as subcategory is irrelevant. Thanks. Best, Konullu (talk) 11:57, 7 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

The article Ara Keshishyan has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Case of WP:ONEEVENT. There should not be 13 individual articles, one for each defendant, about this case. Combine into one article.

Bgwhite (talk) 05:26, 3 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

The approach "There should not be 13 individual articles, one for each defendant, about this case" doesn't seem the case here, because this article is about the leader of this famous bank fraud and the article about other 13 individuals and their activities during this bank fraud can be under this article. Konullu (talk) 18:40, 3 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]
The article's title needs to be about the bank fraud case and not just one individual. There were 13 individual's involved, not just one. The individual is not notable enough to get an article per WP:ONEEVENT. For example, the 2002 attack on the World Trade Center doesn't go under Bin Laden. Bgwhite (talk) 20:52, 3 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I also created Gone in 60 Seconds (bank fraud) and routed to Ara Keshishyan. Do you mean that the article needs to be routed other way around? I mean we can put the same content under the article Gone in 60 Seconds (bank fraud) and route article Ara Keshishyan to that one. Best, Konullu (talk) 21:03, 3 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Yea, the other way around. Have Gone in 60 Seconds (bank fraud) be the main article with Ara Keshishyan being the redirect. Bgwhite (talk) 21:19, 3 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Done. thanks :) Konullu (talk) 21:50, 3 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Daniel Thomas (fraudster) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think that the page was nominated in error, contest the nomination by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion" in the speedy deletion tag. Doing so will take you to the talk page where you can explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. speedy deletions

[edit]

Hi, the reason is simple, those are common names and criminals are not notable. If someone was to lookup someone else's name, they would be redirected to a crime page, that has nothing to do with the person they were looking for and that creates WP:BLP violations. Putting a fraudster would not solve the notability problem. The main article itself barely fits the notability requirements. Antelope Hunter (talk) 18:25, 10 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Howard Manoian, requesting that it be deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under two or more of the criteria for speedy deletion, by which articles can be deleted at any time, without discussion. If the page meets any of these strictly-defined criteria, then it may be soon be deleted by an administrator. The reasons it has been tagged are:

  • It appears to be a clear copyright infringement. (See section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion.) For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. However, even if you use one of these processes to release copyrighted material to Wikipedia, it still needs to comply with the other policies and guidelines to be eligible for inclusion. If you would like any assistance with this, you can ask a question at the help desk.

  • It appears to be about a person, organization (band, club, company, etc.), individual animal, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. (See section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion.) Such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

BLP violations warning

[edit]

You have a lengthy history of problematic editing, including gross WP:BLP violations, copyright infringement, and inappropriate article creation. Consider this a warning if this continues, you may be blocked.--Bbb23 (talk) 19:32, 10 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]
