Information icon Hello, I'm Lol1VNIO. I wanted to let you know that I reverted one of your recent contributions—specifically this edit to List of leaders of Russia—because it did not appear constructive. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. If you have any questions, you can ask for assistance at the Help desk. Thanks. ~~ lol1VNIO (I made a mistake? talk to mecontribs) 18:59, 12 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Lol1VNIO. I'm sorry for my Edit. It was unnecessary and not in keeping with the principles of Wikipedia. This situation has actually gotten me interested in helping fighting Vandalism here on Wikipedia though! I have already been hard at work on that today :) --Kvoou (talk) 12:41, 13 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for your interest in fighting vandalism. Some important stuff to know are: assuming good faith (unless there is clear evidence to the contrary), always warn when reverting problematic edits, and file a report to WP:AIV when the vandal continues after final warning. I recommend the tools Twinkle or RedWarn to revert even faster. If you choose not to use them, that's alright too and make sure to always substitute those warning templates (i.e. {{subst:uw‑vandalism1|...}} ~~~~). I hope to see you become a rollbacker someday, that'd be awesome!
PS a list of what is not vandalism is also very useful. ~~ lol1VNIO (I made a mistake? talk to mecontribs) 17:28, 13 June 2022 (UTC); edited 17:32, 13 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Hi Lol1VNIO! Thank you for the resources, I have already read through them yesterday. I am planning to use RedWarn, but my account needs to be autoconfirmed, so I have to wait a little bit to use it :) Huggle seems to need Rollback rights, too. I have just been patrolling recent changes for now, making use of the built-in filters, though many of the edits that show up there are already reverted when they appear. I'm also looking to join the Counter-Vandalism Unit once I have enough edits!
One additional question: Do I also warn when it's an IP edit? I have been using the warnings, but it did feel a bit ineffective to warn IP Addresses, especially when most IP's are dynamic. Thanks!
And one more thing :) I have also been interested in translating Articles from German Wikipedia (I'm a native), but on the page of articles needing translation I didn't see any. Is there a good way/tool to find Articles that are in one wiki, but not another? --Kvoou (talk) 07:03, 14 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
For the question related to anti-vandalsim, yes, you have to always warn users who make disruptive edits. This is a list of the most commonly-used warning templates. Kpddg (talk) 12:32, 14 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Question about User Signature

[edit]

Respected Sir, How have you designed your wiki sign? I also want to design. Please help me. Regards --- Tbengalieditor 🚀 (talk) 15:32, 22 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Tbengalieditor! Great to see you wanting to contribute to Wikipedia! I have actually "copied" my design from Lol1VNIO, after asking him of course, and made the necessary adjustments to personalize it. :) I'm sure he's okay with you just copying it from me and adjusting it for yourself! Just go to my User Page, click "Edit source" and copy the contents to your User Page. You can then go through and change it up to make it yours. Kvoou ❯❯❯ Talk 05:47, 23 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

But I want to copy only the signature style...how can I? Tbengalieditor 🚀 (talk) 06:05, 23 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Tbengalieditor! I apologize, I read your question wrong. You can change your signature by clicking Preferences when logged in, in the top right area. Scroll down and you'll see a field where you can enter a style for your signature. Go ahead and copy my signature to that field, changing the name. You can see the format string in the source editor on this page. Kvoou ❯❯❯ Talk 06:28, 23 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Ok... Thank You... Happy Editing Tbengalieditor 🚀 (talk) 06:41, 23 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Many Many Thanks... I have done it. Regards - Tbengalieditor > Talk 07:09, 23 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Actually the color codes were on css. And I'm not an expert at all. That's why I asked you. Regards - Tbengalieditor > Talk 07:26, 23 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

ArbCom 2022 Elections voter message

[edit]

Hello! Voting in the 2022 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 12 December 2022. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2022 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}} to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 01:56, 29 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
