Welcome

[edit]

Hello Kyarbrough1! and welcome to Wikipedia! We appreciate encyclopedic contributions, but some of your contributions, such as the ones to Kim Yarbrough, do not conform to our policies. For more information on this, see Wikipedia's policies on vandalism and limits on acceptable additions. If you'd like to experiment with the wiki's syntax, please do so in the sandbox (but beware that the contents of the sandbox are deleted frequently) rather than in articles.

If you still have questions, there is a new contributors' help page, or you can click here to ask for help on your talk page, and a volunteer should respond shortly. You may also find the following pages useful for a general introduction to Wikipedia.

I hope you enjoy editing and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. Feel free to write a note on the bottom of my talk page if you want to get in touch with me. Again, welcome! –Ammarpad (talk) 06:54, 24 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Help me!

[edit]

Please help me with the guidelines I have violated. I simply wanted to remove my birthdate and update pertinent career information. Is it because I did not know to provide references to the changes? The acting information listed has not been updated since 2014.

Sorry for the harsh introduction to Wikipedia editing. There's a number of things you ran afoul of.
Editing your own article is frowned upon. You may request changes on the talk page of the article.
All of the facts in an article are expected to be sourced to published sources. Without references, it's impossible for a reader to verify that the facts in the article match what has been published. Wikipedia does not care to verify that you are who you say you are (there are a few cases where this may be done), when the content of the article is based on published sources rather than to your own personal knowledge.
You may request that your birthdate be removed from the article by going to WP:OVERSIGHT and emailing the team with your request. If your birthdate is widely published, they may decline to remove it, but they will explain their decision to you. — jmcgnh(talk) (contribs) 07:49, 24 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]
