I have deleted, Who's That Girl Tour as per WP:NOT, wikipedia is not a random collection of information including tour listings, though that may be helpful on an article on the tour name or on the band name. Jtkiefer T | @ | C ----- 19:37, 15 October 2005 (UTC)

Please stop removing content from Christina Aguilera. It is considered vandalism. If you want to experiment, please use the sandbox. Thank you.

Oh, I'm so sorry. I misread the diffs pages. That was meant for User:222.152.192.97. I'll put the pic back. --LBMixPro(Speak on it!) 20:00, 22 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome[edit]

Hello, L.a.m.b~enwiki, and welcome to Wikipedia. Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are a few good links for newcomers:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! By the way, you can sign your name on Talk and vote pages using three tildes, like this: ~~~. Four tildes (~~~~) produces your name and the current date. If you have any questions, see the help pages, add a question to the village pump or ask me on my talk page. Again, welcome! --LBMixPro(Speak on it!) 20:13, 22 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Images[edit]

Please don't add these small collage images to pages such as Melanie Brown. Aesthetically they're a matter of personal taste, I'm sure (I don't like them, but that's not the point) — the main problem is that they're non-fair-use of fair-use images. --Mel Etitis (Μελ Ετητης) 21:09, 25 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

  1. Please sign your messages.
  2. Don't accuse editors of vandalism until you've read and understood Wikipedia:Vandalism.
  3. I've explained that your placing of these images violates fair use; why do you say that I removed them just because I don't like them?
  4. I see that at least one other editor is worried about this, and has raised the issue of fair use on the images themselves. --Mel Etitis (Μελ Ετητης) 18:53, 26 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Signing your messages involves using four tildes, as explained in the Welcome message above. The other editor has tagged the images in question; I didn't check to see who it was. --Mel Etitis (Μελ Ετητης) 19:17, 26 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, your signature worked fine that time. --Mel Etitis (Μελ Ετητης) 19:43, 26 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

More copyright concerns[edit]

Hi. I notice that you removed from your talk page the message I left about copyrighted images that you have uploaded to Wikipedia. I would like to ask you to review Wikipedia:Copyright, Wikipedia:Fair use and Wikipedia:Images. If you would like to help keep Wikipedia free of copyright infringements, please see Wikipedia:WikiProject Fair use. Thanks. Jkelly 16:52, 1 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for your response. Many of the images in question have been tagged "fairusereview" which means that I am unclear whether they can be defended as fair use or not, and another editor will take a look at them. I appreciate that the rules about this are neither clear nor easy to find, and I'd like to repeat my offer to look over Wikipedia:WikiProject Fair use if you are interested in contributing to the discussion and thinking about fair use images on Wikipedia. Regards, Jkelly 21:51, 1 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]
All images that are uploaded to Wikipedia need two things. One of them is the source, which is usually, but not always, a URL. The other is the image's copyright status, which should include who owns the copyright. Unaltered album covers are, in general, pretty safe, and I don't always bother to do any more than use the "album cover" label in the menu to the describe them. Using album covers to make Photoshopped images, however, is not okay. In the case of your thumbnail-sized album covers in a row, I don't know how much of a problem that they could cause, so I tagged them for review. Images of people are usually copyrighted by the photographer (or whatever publisher they sold them to) and we can't use them in most cases. If the image comes from a press kit, or that person's promotional agency, that is when to use the "promotional" tag. As for deleting your own images, only administrators (like User:Mel Etitis) can delete images. If you uploaded it, you can put {{db|Please delete this image I uploaded}} on it and hope that some administrator notices it and does it. Feel free to let me know if anything I said wasn't clear. Jkelly 00:11, 2 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Your message[edit]

If you let me have a list of the ones you want deleted (or tag them with {{db|Deletion requested by up-loader}}) I'll be happy to do it for you. --Mel Etitis (Μελ Ετητης) 13:25, 2 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Hi L.A.M.B.[edit]

I've also got a question for you concerning Gwen images. Do you have AIM or MSN so that I could show you the pics? OmegaWikipedia 17:29, 3 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Question[edit]

Do you know where I can get any images from the music video for Gwen Stefani's "Hollaback Girl"? I ask this because I see you added an image to the "Cool" section was removed. --Winnermario 02:04, 3 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, please upload them ("Hollaback Girl" images) and I will choose which are the best! --Winnermario 21:17, 3 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Re:Steve Barron[edit]

Thank you for your corrections to Steve Barron. I didn't realize he started out so early.

Philip Stevens 15:41, 5 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Hi L.a.m.b, I tagged this image as having no source because the link you provided goes directly to the picture and can't be used to get information about the source and license. It is unlikely the uploader actually holds the copyright to the image. Most likely it is a usable publicity photo from her record company, but without valid sources it can't be used. If you find a valid source please update it! Thanks! :) Foofy 15:58, 16 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Re: Rhona Bennett[edit]

For your information the article wasn't deleted for being a copyvio. It was deleted because it had been nominated for deletion at articles for deletion and twice as many people said to delete it than to keep it. I notice you have re-created the article and have no problem with it being there so it's all water under the bridge now anyway. -- Francs2000 17:47, 22 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Unspecified source for Image:Harajuku tour.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Harajuku tour.jpg. I notice the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you have not created this file yourself, then there needs to be a justification explaining why we have the right to use it on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you did not create the file yourself, then you need to specify where it was found, i.e., in most cases link to the website where it was taken from, and the terms of use for content from that page.

If the file also doesn't have a copyright tag, then one should be added. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{Non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Extraordinary Machine 16:08, 28 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks. Next time, just remember to specify on the image description page that you were the person who took the photo. Extraordinary Machine 09:46, 14 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Trim?[edit]

Hi! I like the picture you took of Stefani (Image:Harajuku tour.jpg), but was wondering if it could be trimmed for the Gwen Stefani article? The top portions have excess space and since there's nothing of particular interest, I'm hoping that you'll grant me permission to remove redundant bits. You are inclined to decline this request. Thanks! Velten 23:20, 11 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned fair use image (Image:Virgin tour.jpg)[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Virgin tour.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Unspecified source for Image:Harajuku tour3.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Harajuku tour3.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, then you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, then their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self-no-disclaimers}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. Fair use rationale for Image:Christinakiss.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Christinakiss.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Time_Out_With_Britney_Spears.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use. Suggestions on how to do so can be found here.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. Disputed non-free use rationale for File:Speak.JPG[edit]

Thank you for uploading File:Speak.JPG. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this file on Wikipedia may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the file description page and adding or clarifying the reason why the file qualifies under this policy. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your file is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a non-free use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for files used under the non-free content policy require both a copyright tag and a non-free use rationale.

If it is determined that the file does not qualify under the non-free content policy, it might be deleted by an administrator within a few days in accordance with our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you. Stifle (talk) 10:29, 29 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Notice

The file File:Nelly Furtado - Turn off the Light.jpg has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Using more than one visual identifier normally discouraged per WP:NFCC#3a and WP:NFC#Number of items. Preferring other image (File:Turnofflightnellyfurtado.jpg)...

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated files}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the file's talk page.

Please consider addressing the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated files}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and files for discussion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.

This bot DID NOT nominate any file(s) for deletion; please refer to the page history of each individual file for details. Thanks, FastilyBot (talk) 01:00, 13 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
