Proposed deletion of J A Aromire[edit]

The article J A Aromire has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Bioigraphical article which does not explain, or even assert, the notability of the subject. No references, but two "External links". One of these is broken, and does not even seem to have an archive copy; the other leads to the home page of the Royal College of Nursing, with no indication as to its relevance to this article.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Your appeal at WP:AE[edit]

Hello Laromire, and welcome to Wikipedia. I undid your request at the AE noticeboard because that is the wrong place. If you would like the IP's block lifted you should start by asking User:Beetstra since he is the admin who placed the block. If you are not satisfied with his reponse you could ask at WP:ANI. Whatever you decide to do, you'll need to explain why the previous abuse that made the blocks necessary will not recur. Since March 2010 this IP has been blocked by seven different admins, which does suggest a continuing problem. Thanks, EdJohnston (talk) 19:37, 31 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Dear Laromire - I presume you were using that IP and ran into the block log. My apologies for that. I see however that you already have an account, and if you want to edit, you can use this account which is unaffected by the block.
We can not unblock the IP. A user who is blocked is using that IP (amongst others) to evade their block and continue to edit, including performing the problematic edits that caused the original block. The user should return to their account and request that account to be unblocked (request removal of what is now a de facto ban).
In short, they were (and are - the person in question that is using these IPs, and to who the original account belongs, was actually active these very days (the block on some of the IPs they used expired), resulting in these IPs to be reblocked again!) editing in flagrant disregard of the policies and guidelines of the English language Wikipedia. --Dirk Beetstra T C 03:45, 3 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]
alas, poor uninvolved editor, you have wandered into bitey wikiland, where we once had 50,000 editors and now have 30,000 and will have 10,000 in 5 years. as you see, most new editors are bitten (as your article is nominated for deletion); most editing is done at editathons, or by masochists, some at wikicup. the fact that this admin blocked a public library for 6 months is wonderful. the fact that he imposes a blanket ban on youtube, contrary to the express written provisions of EL guidelines matters not. if you want some guidance about editing, please come to some Wikimedia DC meetups. http://wikimediadc.org/wiki/Home --198.24.31.108 (talk) 18:55, 7 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]
