I never said it was a *scientific* theory...the book - have you even read it? it is a book that describes the *theory and method* of homeopathy period. That is all it is. That is a better and less POV description than calling it a *doctrine* which is clearly a prejudicial/pejorative term making it look like some sect, which it may be to some folks, but it has a definite POV attribution. I have no idea why Devrient called it a doctrine...but please his is ONE translation of the book of the 4th edition. I don't think anyone else has called it a doctrine in a translation. So what is your point? You are hanging this whole discussion on one word by one person in one translation compared to the numerous other translations that do not use that word, is that it? That is a highly prejudicial slant on the whole thing which suggests POV is exactly what you want to see in the article. Correct? Peter morrell 18:45, 29 May 2014 (UTC)

OK thanks, that seems to have settled the matter quite amicably. As you point out, the word doctrine is much more universally used than I had thought. I wonder, can you please search for and ideally let me have a download link for French Organon editions 1 2 3 and 4? I would quite like to obtain copies of them for my own research. Many thanks re the possible downloads; just to clarify it is the French editions of Organon 1 (1810), Organon 2 (1819), Organon 3 (1824) and Organon 4 (1824) if they exist. All I have so far found is the 5th Organon (1833) in French translation and I have a German Organon and a Portuguese copy. I already have Organon 1, 4 and 5 in English. I am not sure how many Organons were translated into French so the job might be a bit hit and miss. It might help to know that the editions contain the following number of aphorisms: Organon 1 (1810) = 271 aphorisms; organon 2 = 1819 315 aphorisms; organon 3 = 1824 317 aphorisms; organon 4 = 1829 292 aphorisms; organon 5 = 1833 294 aphorisms; it provides a pretty fail-safe way of checking what edition you have found. In case you are wondering, I am comparing how the language changes through time and also the terms he uses for various medical concepts. This is why the different translations are a great help. Thanks for that but none of those links yield a full download, sadly. I don't have login capability on that site. So, I am no nearer getting what I need. Any other suggestions? That French site was better but I found it hard to navigate. Thank you Peter morrell 04:20, 31 May 2014 (UTC)
