Notes on draft
[edit]Hi! I wanted to leave you a quick note about the draft - it looks good so far, but make sure that you find more independent, secondary coverage of Park. While primary sources can back up basic details, they cannot show notability for Park. Be careful, because while some positions can give notability per WP:NPROF, it can sometimes be difficult to establish this without the secondary coverage. Offhand it looks like there should be coverage, as this book states that someone did a PhD dissertation on her (which can be used as a reliable source). A page you started (Rosemary Park) has been reviewed!
[edit]Thanks for creating Rosemary Park, LizLew!
Wikipedia editor Blythwood just reviewed your page, and wrote this note for you:
Looks great! I'm just adding a few things to finish it off: some categories, a link to her published works and some tags on the talk page. Hope that's all OK.

Speedy deletion nomination of Andrea R Canaan
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Andrea R Canaan requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a real person or group of people, but it does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. ‡ Єl Cid of ᐺalencia ᐐT₳LKᐬ 14:09, 1 November 2017 (UTC)
- Hi LizLew - when you created the page you didn't really have a whole lot of sourcing on the article and what you did have suggested that the sourcing was primary. Primary sources cannot show notability for someone, even if the source looks like it should. You need to have independent and reliable sourcing, enough to firmly show that the person is notable. The minimum is two, however that's really only when the sources show a very major accomplishment or honor, like winning a Newberry or Pulitzer. That said, a quick search has provided enough to where I'm fairly certain that she would pass notability guidelines, so I've asked the deleting admin to restore the article on Canaan. Just be very careful and make sure to add more/better sourcing. Shalor (Wiki Ed) (talk) 15:09, 1 November 2017 (UTC)
