Request reason:
To whom it may concern: I have only used Wikipedia as an editor twice before. Once when I made my account, and again when I found out my account was blocked. My boss, Robert Kolt, requested that I make a page for his PR & communications firm. He sent me a biography and headshot and I added it to my page. Since I'm not very familiar with WP as an editor, I wanted to wait before it was actually published. I didn't know I had actually published it but when I came back the next time I saw that I was blocked for my "Kolt Communications" entry. I understand that I need to edit his bio to be from a neutral point of view, and I need to prove that he owns the rights to the picture. It was not my intention to unambiguously promote. As an editor, I also intend to make contributions to the Kolt Communications page involving PR theories and practices, and information outside of the business. I was also looking through the 'Killing of JonBenét Ramsey' page and there are contributions I can make there as well. In particular details about the ransom note such as potential intentional spelling errors and quotes from movies that had played on TV recently, as noted here. [1] Thank you for your consideration. Decline reason:
This doesn't really address your violation of WP:PAID and the copyright violation. Since you indicate you are only interested in making edits related to your conflict of interest, there are no grounds to remove the block. 331dot (talk) 16:01, 1 November 2021 (UTC)
If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.
{{unblock| To whom it may concern: I am once again writing to get some guidance on how to move forward with my tasks. Every time I have tried to seek help or ask questions my account is immediately blocked, or my questions are left unanswered. I have spent several hours looking through Wikipedia help pages, trying to educate myself on how to use Wikipedia correctly and do what my superior has asked me to do without breaking any rules. However, the amount of information editors are required to know is extremely overwhelming and some of what I have discovered even seems contradictory. I just read something about how it's important to offer help to new editors which I thought was ironic because I have only ever been shut down with little explanation. My requests have never been hostile, and I don't think it's fair to give me, a new editor, no chance to correct my mistakes.
My boss is a CEO, professor, professional communicator, author, former broadcaster, and is a board chairperson for the Michigan Community Service Commission, among many other things. He is quoted in news articles weekly, and people often ask why he doesn't have a Wikipedia page, which is why he asked me, his employee, to make one. It was never my intention to hide the fact that I work for him, or use Wikipedia for promotional purposes, only to provide information for others about who he is and what he does. My last request to be unblocked was denied because I did not address that I am a paid editor or the copyright violation. My boss owns his headshot that I uploaded so I don’t know what else I have to do in that regard, and regarding the paid promotion; I stated that it was not my intention to unambiguously promote and I acknowledged that his biography needs to be rewritten in a neutral point of view. I don’t know what needs to be said further to address this. I would greatly appreciate some guidance and the chance to correct these mistakes. I would also like to acknowledge that I did make another account for the purpose of asking questions on how to move forward. It was not created with the intent to make it seem like another person was running that account. When I was asking questions to the person who initially blocked me, I openly admitted that I made a new account which resulted in me being blocked again. Again, I would greatly appreciate any help I can get, thank you.Lizyassick (talk) 23:03, 22 February 2022 (UTC)
Speedy deletion nomination of Draft:Kolt Communications Inc.
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Draft:Kolt Communications Inc., requesting that it be deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under two or more of the criteria for speedy deletion, by which pages can be deleted at any time, without discussion. If the page meets any of these strictly-defined criteria, then it may soon be deleted by an administrator. The reasons it has been tagged are:
- It seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. (See section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion.) Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.
- It appears to be an unambiguous copyright infringement of https://www.koltcommunications.com/team/robertkolt/ and https://www.koltcommunications.com/. (See section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion.) For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing. If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines.
