Jim Keady

Jim Keady, a social justice educator, politician and tavern owner, got his start as a human rights activist while pursuing a master's degree in pastoral theology at St. John's University in New York. He played semi-professional soccer as a goalie and assisted in coaching the St. John's men's soccer team (http://www.oregonlive.com/playbooks-profits/index.ssf/2011/07/activist_jim_keady_of_team_sweat_monitors_nike-con.html).

For his graduate thesis, Keady wrote a paper, "Nike and Catholic Social Teaching: A Challenge to the Christian Mission at St. John's University," examining the company's business practices and challenging the university's sponsorship agreement with Nike. Social Justice Work Keady is the Director of Educating for Justice, Inc., a NJ-based nonprofit company that educates and organizes citizens to promote peace and justice in the world. Keady founded Team Sweat in 2000. Team Sweat is one of the largest groups that specifically tracks and protests against Nike. Team Sweat is "an international coalition of consumers, investors, and workers committed to ending the injustices in Nike’s sweatshops around the world.". While Keady was conducting his research about Nike at St. John’s University, the school signed a $3.5 million deal with Nike, forcing all athletes and coaches to endorse Nike. Keady publicly refused to support Nike and was forced to resign his position as soccer coach in 1998. Since resigning, Keady has done original research into the conditions in Nike's Sweatshops. Keady's social justice work regarding Nike has been featured on television including CBS, NBC, Fox, ABC, MSNBC, CNN, HBO Sports, ESPN, the ABC, the BBC, NPR, WBAI, as well as in the NY Times, Newsday, Sports Illustrated, the Daily News, and countless other local radio programs and print outlets. Further, he offers an educational workshops called "Beyond the Swoosh" where he shares his experiences living with Nike’s factory workers and his decade long effort to end sweatshop abuses (http://ciaspeakers.com/home/?p=215).

Keady was a dedicated volunteer in his hometown of Belmar, NJ, after Hurricane Sandy, and famously had an exchange with Gov. Politics Keady was a former Asbury Park Councilman, who famously was told to "sit down and shut up" by Gov. Chris Christie, and is currently running against Rep. Chris Smith in New Jersey's fourth district.

Keady graduated from St Joseph University in 1993 with a degree in psychology and earned his master's in theology from St. John's University in 1999.

Note, the fact that you are creating a draft article on one politician who has run against another politician to whose article you have added negative content is what prompted this. Note that all wikipedia articles should be neutral and verified with reliable sources. Using the encyclopedia for political campaigning is not acceptable.
