Speedy deletion of Salmo ezenami
[edit]A tag has been placed on Salmo ezenami requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. [edit]Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, you may not know that Wikipedia has a Manual of Style that should be followed to maintain a consistent, encyclopedic appearance. Using different styles throughout the encyclopedia, as you did in Salmo fibreni, makes it harder to read. Please take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. Pontificalibus (talk) 16:35, 31 March 2009 (UTC)

As a copyright violation, Salmo fibreni appears to qualify for deletion under the speedy deletion criteria. Salmo fibreni has been tagged for deletion, and may have been deleted by the time you see this message.

Explanation of copyright in Fishbase
[edit](I was writing this at the same time Fabrictramp posted the above paragraph--we are advising essentially the same thing.)
Fishbase is a wonderful resource. However, it is copyright under a license which permits non-commercial use only. Wikipedia uses a license that permits use by anyone for any purpose, and so we cannot import content from a site or publication with a more restrictive license. People can and do use our content for commercial purposes, as long as they attribute it to wikipedia and reproduce our license. so the material from there has to be rewritten., This is actually fairly easy,for we have a standard format for articles on fish. You then must give the place where you found the information , which is Fishbase: Give the url of the page used, and dont use copy the "main ref" information from the bottom but link specifically to their author identification as well, eg to http://www.fishbase.org/References/FBRefSummary.php?ID=13696&speccode=26969 J And always make sure you completely rewrite it. We have a lot of missing fishes, but do it right,. If people see the standard format they will not ignorantly think that there is no context. DGG (talk) 17:37, 31 March 2009 (UTC)
