Welcome!

[edit]

Hello, Lprosenberg, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Unfortunately, one or more of the pages you created, such as User:Lprosenberg/sandbox, may not conform to some of Wikipedia's guidelines, and may not be retained.

There's a page about creating articles you may want to read called Your first article. If you are stuck, and looking for help, please come to the Teahouse, where experienced Wikipedians can answer any queries you have! Or, you can just type {{help me}} on this page, followed by your question, and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions. Here are a few other good links for newcomers:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. If you have any questions, check out Wikipedia:Questions or ask me on my talk page. Again, welcome! Joseph2302 (talk) 20:39, 24 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on User:Lprosenberg/sandbox, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. I have declined the deletion for the moment. This user space draft is still potentially subject to deletion. Please examine it, note that at least one editor considers it to be an advert, edit it to remove advertorial tone, and also submit it for review (the blue box in the banner I placed at the head). While awaiting review, continue to edit it.
Do not take too long to start this process. The fact that I have declined speedy deletion does not prevent other editors from reaching the same conclusions reached by Joseph2302, nor does it prevent them from making a further nomination for one of our deletion mechanisms.
Deploy {{Connected contributor}} on the talk page of the draft article, with all parameters filled in to declare your conflict of interest formally. I suggest that you set the 'other links' parameter to point to your user page here. Paid editing is acceptable within our policies, but we have a very high bar for professional editors to leap in terms of quality of editing. You have to be beyond reproach very fast indeed. Thank you to everyone for your advice. How do I put the draft of my article on the talk page for it, and do the connected contributor link? I'm concerned because I may not have a chance to do all of these things before tomorrow, as my cousin from overseas is about to arrive at my home, and I haven't seen him for 15 years. Thank you in advance for the direction. I'm trying to research as much as I can to implement your advice, but appreciate any direction you can still offer. Trying to find where to add 'other links' parameter to point to here. Where do I find that, and should I do that from my sandbox page or another page? Also, can I link the article to the official Scott-Vincent Borba website (not within the article, but under Official Website), and where do I find the function to do that? And do I do all of the things in this paragraph from Sandbox or after clicking the blue button "submit your draft for review?" Lprosenberg (talk) 00:44, 25 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I think you are a little confused.
Your sandbox has its own talk page. Every page has a talk page. They are two sides of a pancake. When inside the sandbox click its Talk Page tab. Deploy {{Connected contributor}} there.
My view is that, provided you have the clear intention, which you do, to edit the draft to bring it into line with our policies, then, even if it is deleted while you are otherwise engaged, you can get that deletion refunded
You may submit it at any point you wish, even in a parlous state. There is, however, little point in doing so for the moment.
References will be an issue. For a living person we have a high standard of referencing. Every substantive fact you assert, especially one that is susceptible to potential challenge, requires a citation with a reference that is about them, and is independent of them, and ‘’is in WP:RS’’
So, breathe. Fiddle Faddle 06:24, 25 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Did I add connected contributor and other links (to this page) correctly on my talk page associated with my sandbox page? Is it the right time now for me to click the blue box to submit my article for review? Thank you to all of you for your help! Lprosenberg (talk) 23:08, 25 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Well clicked! If you look at the draft's talk page now you will see that I have filled out some parameters in the template for full correctness.. Fiddle Faddle 18:49, 27 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Paid editors are required to disclose who paid them, see WP:PE. Joseph2302 (talk) 11:44, 25 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]
