Observed manners in short & long distance drivers in Namibia

[edit]

There are always a few similiar things that hitch-hikers experience in Namibia. These are put on them by their prospective drivers.

  • The drivers are running around like crazy to grab hitch- hikers onto their cars
  • Hikers luggage gets grabbed and is loaded onto a car
  • Hikers end up waiting to go as the car has to be filled to capacity with hikers.
  • drivers do not make an effort to organise themselves on as to who will load first.
  • once they decide to drive, their driving is that of an individual who is rushing to get back in order to pick up more hikers
  • The hikers suffer great discomfort, disrespect and fright at the hans of the drivers.
