Hi Alex; I have restored our article on Samantha Brennan and moved it to your userspace. Funny- both her and I are Lancastrians working in Ontario. Just to note that, for page history reasons, you will have to move the article to the mainspace if/when you think it's ready (though because it's previously been deleted, we'll have to be extra sure), and not just copy-paste it. (Sorry if you already knew this.) Josh Milburn (talk) 13:42, 10 October 2016 (UTC)
A page you started (Jennifer Nagel) has been reviewed!
[edit]Thanks for creating Jennifer Nagel, Madva!
Wikipedia editor Animalparty just reviewed your page, and wrote this note for you:
Make sure you are not infusing your own analysis/synthesis with potentially subjective phrases like "Nagel is well-known for...", especially when primary sources are used as references.

User:Madva/Samantha Brennan (again)
[edit]Hi Alex; the draft on Brennan, at the moment, has two pretty big issues; firstly, it cites a number of unreliable sources (blogs and Goodreads are not ideal, at all) and, second, it seems to copy or at least closely paraphrase at least one of the sources it cites. The comment in the section immediately above this one are also good suggestions to bear in mind! Josh Milburn (talk) 23:40, 12 October 2016 (UTC)
Philosophers
[edit]Hi Madva. Thanks for all your work on philosophers. I have just noticed though that you added Eduardo Mendieta to the WiR list of new articles on women in philosophy. I have had to remove it as he was of course a man.--Ipigott (talk) 15:21, 29 October 2016 (UTC)
Women in philosophy
[edit]Hi Alex, happy new year! The women in philosophy drive is now over; the final article count was around 30, which wasn't what it could have been. Interestingly enough, Women in Red has another women philosophers project for January: Wikipedia:WikiProject Women in Red/Meetup/33. If you've the time, perhaps you'd like to join in with that one, too. Josh Milburn (talk) 18:02, 1 January 2017 (UTC)
Speedy deletion nomination of Dorit Bar-On
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Dorit Bar-On requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be an unambiguous copyright infringement. This page appears to be a direct copy from http://www.doritbar-on.com/uploads/1/3/6/9/13698997/bar-oncv2015-16.pdf. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.
If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website or image but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines.
