Editing pattern at Edward de Vere article[edit]

Hello Jill, and welcome to Wikipedia. Some of your edits and edit summaries could be interpreted as being non-neutral as regards the Shakespeare authorship question. We try to present information in a neutral tone here, and statements such as He wrongly stated that Oxford served on the King's Privy Council and wrongly stated that he was buried at Westminster, citing only the opinion of one 20th-century author, do not come across as neutral presentation. In addition, while it is helpful that you provide edit summaries, some of them are overlong, and include views that would be better expressed on the appropriate talkpage. It might be helpful to consult this guidance: WP:EDITSUMCITE. Thanks in advance for considering these observations. Eric talk 16:25, 28 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Edward de Vere, 17th Earl of Oxford and the Shakespeare authorship question[edit]

This is a standard message to notify contributors about an administrative ruling in effect. It does not imply that there are any issues with your contributions to date.

You have shown interest in the Shakespeare authorship question. Due to past disruption in this topic area, a more stringent set of rules called discretionary sanctions is in effect. Any administrator may impose sanctions on editors who do not strictly follow Wikipedia's policies, or the page-specific restrictions, when making edits related to the topic.

For additional information, please see the guidance on discretionary sanctions and the Arbitration Committee's decision here. If you have any questions, or any doubts regarding what edits are appropriate, you are welcome to discuss them with me or any other editor.
