You should wait for others to write an article about subjects in which you are personally involved, as you did at Mapleton Hill Media. This applies to articles about you, your achievements, your band, your business, your publications, your website, your relatives, and any other possible conflict of interest.

Creating an article about yourself is strongly discouraged. If you create such an article, it might be listed on articles for deletion. Deletion is not certain, but many feel strongly that you should not start articles about yourself. This is because independent creation encourages independent validation of both significance and verifiability. All edits to articles must conform to Wikipedia:No original research, Wikipedia:Neutral point of view, and Wikipedia:Verifiability.

If you are not "notable" under Wikipedia guidelines, creating an article about yourself may violate the policy that Wikipedia is not a personal webspace provider and would thus qualify for speedy deletion. If your achievements, etc., are verifiable and genuinely notable, and thus suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia, someone else will probably create an article about you sooner or later. (See Wikipedia:Wikipedians with articles.) Thank you. A new name 2008 (talk) 23:24, 22 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome to Wikipedia. It might not have been your intention, but you removed a speedy deletion tag from Mapleton Hill Media, a page you have created yourself. If you do not believe the page should be deleted, you can place a {{hangon}} tag on the page, under the existing speedy deletion tag (please do not remove the speedy deletion tag), and make your case on the page's talk page. Administrators will look at your reasoning before deciding what to do with the page. Thank you. A new name 2008 (talk) 23:24, 22 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not remove speedy deletion notices from pages you have created yourself, as you did with Mapleton Hill Media. Please use the {{hangon}} template on the page instead if you disagree with the deletion. Thank you. A new name 2008 (talk) 23:30, 22 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

This account has been blocked indefinitely from editing Wikipedia, because it has been identified as an account used for promotion of a company or group, with a username that implies that this has been done by that company or group. See Wikipedia:FAQ/Organization and Wikipedia:Conflict of interest.

This kind of activity is considered spamming and is forbidden by Wikipedia policies. In addition, the use of a username like yours violates our username policy.

You may appeal this block by adding the text {{unblock|your reason here}} below or emailing the administrator who blocked you.

Your reason should include your response to this issue and a new username you wish to adopt that does not violate our username policy (specifically, understand that accounts are for individuals, not companies or groups, and that your username should reflect this). Usernames that have already been taken are listed here. Blueboy96 23:31, 22 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I placed the following on the talk page in reply to your question on the talk page of the article. I am moving it here because the talk page will be deleted soon.

It is marked for Speedy deletion because there is no indication in the information in the article that it meets the general notability requirements or the specific company notability requirements. Please review the linked guidelines.

Request reason:

I am new to Wikipedia, I created a page about my company prior to reading the guidelines about including references from other sources. Now that I am up to date on the Wikipedia terms I would like to be unblocked so that I can continue to use Wikipedia. Thank you.

Decline reason:

This account can't be unblocked, because the username rules don't allow a company name as an account name. If you decide to create a personal account, please respect the conflict of interest guidelines and refrain from writing about your own company. If it is truly notable, then it's inevitable that people outside the company will write about it. — FisherQueen (talk · contribs) 01:48, 24 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.
