Speedy deletion nomination of Tanya g (british singer)

A tag has been placed on Tanya g (british singer) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be a clear copyright infringement. This page appears to be a direct copy from http://www.tanyag.co.uk/#!. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. Managing a conflict of interest

Advice

You wrote on the talk page: "I am the Project Co-ordinator on the label Tanya is signed to." That gives you a WP:Conflict of interest, and you should read that page and the Wikipedia:Plain and simple conflict of interest guide. You will see that you should not edit directly about Tanya g, but may submit a draft for consideration by uninvolved users.

You also wrote "I just wanted the information on her website and wikipedia page to be similar." I'm afraid that means that you do not understand what an encyclopedia is. Wikipedia is not just another social-media site or a free advertising platform, and the sort of material an artist puts on her own website would be quite unsuitable. Read User:JohnCD/Not a noticeboard for some background.

If you want to proceed, collect independent references showing "significant coverage in reliable sources that are independent of the subject." They are necessary to establish Wikipedia:Notability (see also WP:MUSICBIO), and also because the Wikipedia:Verifiability policy is that "all material must be attributable to reliable, published sources."

Read WP:Your first article for advice, and use WP:Articles for creation to guide you through the process. Write about what she has actually achieved, with no glowing adjectives, no opinions, just plain facts backed up by reliable sources.

I'm sorry if this is more difficult than you expected, but if Wikipedia allowed people to post copies of their own websites, it would be no more use than Facebook as a work of reference. JohnCD (talk) 22:18, 8 September 2016 (UTC)
