I did not erase it to show some respect to the original author of the article, since I am not sure about his/her intentions. But the information provided originally, that is, that Costa Rica did not declare war to Germany in World War II is inaccurate. Costa Rica declared war to Japan on August 8th, 1941, and on August 11th, 1941, to Germany. Clearly mentalfloss.com is not, and never has been a reliable source, so, I am surprised you ask me to provide one. Second, and even more relevant, in academia it is well accepted that common knowledge that is vox populi does not need a citation. Otherwise we would need a citation for every sentence. The fact that Costa Rica declared war to the axis is a fact that is not questionable and it is very easy to verify anywhere online. Let me know if you still need a citation and I will provide one.[reply]
