Accused!
[edit]Okay, I think I've figured out what the problem is. I made some minor grammar/spelling edits to someone else's additions regarding the look of the band (uniforms, hair dye, etc).
I didn't move anything around or screw with your template - it was like that when I got there. Now that I look at the page, it's different from what I saw on Friday (much better, to be honest).
So please excuse me, if you thought I was vandalising, since that was not my intention - my intention was only to fix some obvious spelling/grammar errors that I saw in the text. I only edited something that you removed anyway - I didn't instigate the additions. But I think you should be more careful about accusing people of vandalism. Evilasiangenius 22:35, 19 May 2007 (UTC)
Tiger show
[edit]Mcr616, you have rudely deleted an article that I added without even first asking for opinions. Please explain how I have been adding 'nonsense articles' and specifically, how is the 'tiger show' article nonsense. It does not fall into any category under the patent nonsense guildelines. It was a legitimate article describing such sex shows that exists in Thailand. I know for sure they exists because I have seen them. I maybe be pretty new in wikipedia, but that does not give you the upperhand in determining what is nonsense content. I invite you to invite more people to review the article, if you can bring it back online. Otherwise, I will be glad to repost it. talk
Thanks

Re: RfA
[edit]Though I'm not sure how well I would fare, I would be proud to be nominated by you. I've always told myself that I won't self-nominate, and along the same lines, I won't reject another user's nomination ;). --Moralis (talk) 01:28, 12 April 2007 (UTC)
- It has been brought to my attention that least one user (and presumably several others, who have yet to comment) are interested in seeing a WikiProject support RfA candidates. My problem is this: I am hesitant to approach anyone, especially an entire WikiProject, with a request for support, as this might be interpreted as canvassing. It's been suggested that ideally, a WikiProject would reach out to a user as a potential RfA candidate, rather than the user reaching out to the WikiProject for support. That's also a valid point, but in my case, not really valid, as my RfA began independently of any WikiProject. The conversation about WikiProject support is on User talk:Kelly Martin, if you're curious.
- I'm coming to you with this problem because you're the user who nominated me, and I'm hoping you've got an opinion on the subject. I'm involved in a couple WikiProjects, but because I wasn't nominated at the behest of one of them, I don't really see how I could present myself to one without recieving at least a couple of complaints about canvassing. While I think it would be an unfair interpretation, as the WikiProject would be free to deny me such support, I also think it's inevitable that somebody would bring it up. Thoughts? --Moralis (talk) 08:31, 13 April 2007 (UTC)

[edit]How did I vandalize the template? come on now..your being rediculous. I added a song which IS THE NEXT SINGlE. Apparently that's considered vandalism these days...

This is just plain stupid now. We can use MTV as a source for this type of stuff, but not other music video related sites? The single was added and actually sourced to the TBP article and unless someone has removed it recently, it's been there for the past day or day and a half. How come it can be added to TBP article but not the template? TeamOverload 15:56, 15 April 2007 (UTC)
Troll?
[edit]Why did you call me that? Alteripse has been terribly rude to me and if I "sounded snobbish" it was because I was put off and keeping it short to not give them other things to attack. I think that you have really got it backwards here. I can find many rude things that Alteripse said but only one questionable criticism of mine (which was directed towards content). Please explain, I'm disappointed in your appraisal because I see it as one-sided. Joie de Vivre 16:46, 13 April 2007 (UTC)

Can I ask a favor?
[edit]I noticed that you just suggested an article for deletion. I tried a few minutes ago to add September 11, 2001 attack opportunists. I thought it was by nature not NPOV since it's labeling some people and not others "opportunists". Anyway I was not able to put it on the list; there seem to be a lot of things here that are beyond my computer skills. Could you help me by correcting my efforts? You can give a disclaimer saying it was not your idea to suggest it of course. Thanks if you can help. Steve Dufour 19:37, 14 April 2007 (UTC)

WP:MCR
[edit]Hello mcr616, you are a very active contributor to WP:MCR and I would value your opinion and possibly help with the project. I think it is time that we step it up and really get out there as a project and edit some articles. I have started a topic for a revamp for the project at here. Not many people are active within the project and I think we should try and change that and try and become more organized. Any help is appreciated! Mediation
[edit]Thanks. As you can see, Daizus has now dug in and will not listen to me, so anything further must be on your initiative. It seems to me that a sensible proposal would be to add to the article something like Ionesco himself said that his mother was Jewish<ref>[link] but his daughter said that his mother was of only distant Jewish ancestry [link]</ref>. This would also go on the List of Romanian Jews. Can you please put that on the mediation and talk pages? Thanks again.--Newport 22:21, 16 April 2007 (UTC)
- I'm not 100% happy with the current article, but I'm not sure that anything better would be acceptable to Daizus. I can't understand why we can't just have a reference to www.jinfo.org without all the flannel.--Newport 22:36, 19 April 2007 (UTC)

Re:Hey!
[edit]Looks really good! Do you think you can maybe make a welcome template too? If you're not familiar with templates I could do it. Also, is the code in place for a newsletter when you are ready to send it out? I'm thinking you should maybe get one out at the end of the month so we can let everyone know what's going on. But looks really good! Orfen User Talk | Contribs 00:24, 18 April 2007 (UTC)
Very nice. Probably should wait until April 28 to release that then when The Black Parade would officially become article of the month. Also, the link goes to the May issue but it says it's the March issue. Or is this the April issue? And it says Issue 11. I'm confused by it more than anything but it looks nice. Yes, I am currently working on the Guidelines but if you could start the Portal that'd be great. Orfen User Talk | Contribs 01:26, 18 April 2007 (UTC)
Yes, the Peer Review section is the only one remaining. I can maybe start on it tonight if you haven't already started. I finished the guidelines which probably need some work so if you see anything that you would like to contribute that would be great. Orfen User Talk | Contribs 22:29, 18 April 2007 (UTC)
I finished the Peer Review section. A question, are you updating the newsletter as we finish this stuff to add links for when we send out the newsletter? Just wondering if it can still be edited. Orfen User Talk | Contribs 02:39, 19 April 2007 (UTC)

Heylo! (b^_^)b
[edit]Hey, I'm sorry for "vandalizing" the MCR articles. I was just trying to make them look a little fuller. Like with The Black Parade, all I was doing was adding the pics for the singles to make the page look a little fuller, like it has a bit more info. and with the template, I was just adding important info. about the band.
Well, thank you for correcting me.

Your adoption offer to User:Jmorre22
[edit]I see that you left {{adoptoffer}} on User:Jmorre22's talk page, without any note. Since those templates are really to help us, the adopters, keep track of who has been offered adoption and who hasn't, I'd recommend that you also leave a message on the talk page along with the template, since a new user might not realize what has happened. Just a suggestion, though. --Sopoforic 11:52, 2 May 2007 (UTC)
Hello, Mcr616. The Adopt-a-User program is looking for new ideas and input on the program. If you are still interested please stop by the talk page and read some of the ideas being floated and give a comment. If you want to update or change your information on the adopter's list page, now would be a great time! Thanks! V60 干什么? · VDemolitions 03:46, 7 May 2007 (UTC)

Hello, Mcr616. An automated process has found and removed an image or media file tagged as nonfree media, and thus is being used under fair use that was in your userspace. The image (Image:Detroit-School-Wikipedia.jpg) was found at the following location: User:Mcr616/Detroit School of Rock and Pop. This image or media was attempted to be removed per criterion number 9 of our non-free content policy. The image or media was replaced with Image:NonFreeImageRemoved.svg , so your formatting of your userpage should be fine. Please find a free image or media to replace it with, and or remove the image from your userspace. User:Gnome (Bot)-talk 00:21, 16 May 2007 (UTC)
Request for Adoption
[edit]Hello. I am a relatively new wikipedian - I officially joined in Dec of last year, although I contributed by ip address occasionally before that. I would appreciate your help in guiding me to get my properly-cited, accurate and relevant material and quotes to stick in a page that is apparently being protected by a group of editors who keep deleting it. I have no experience with how to call in other editors, conflict resolution, mediation, etc. and would greatly appreciate any help you could give me.
Thank you! Jgui 18:51, 17 May 2007 (UTC)
Thank you for your offer. I'll respond on your page unless you want me to do otherwise. When I joined WP and started editing last Dec., I read the 'memri' page that I had contributed a small amount to anonymously a couple years before. It had taken a decided turn for the worse (it was in my opinion now very POV, with a section called "Criticism" that had had all substantive criticism removed), so I made some changes, described them in the talk pages HERE, and assumed they would be incorporated into the article, of course with other editors making modifications to improve them. That was based on my previous experience with WP. Instead I was faced with deletion of ALL of my changes, and this happened repeatedly. Often times the wholesale deletions were done without any comment in the talk pages, so I was left to guess why my changes were being deleted, and to modify them myself in an attempt to make them "acceptable". In the time since then, I have improved my changes, and have attempted to re-add them, but they are always removed by one of the same two or three editors. I have made a point to provide active links in Reliable Sources to all of my additions, and I have tried very hard to balance POV so that a NPOV result is achieved. And I have spent many hours arguing for the inclusion of these changes, both one-at-a-time and collectively. But this has had no effect on these two or three editors, who are acting abusively in my opinion.
I am not the only editor to face these editors when trying to contribute to this page: here are the comments of another editor who, like me, had tried to make changes and finally gave up because of these abusive editors: csloat.
The last time I tried to insert changes, I was accused of "disruption" by one of these editors. This is a long section, but it gives you a pretty good sense for where this page is currently (all of my changes deleted): HERE.
These two or three editors are still firmly in control of this page, and are still deleting any text that they don't like, usually without comment.
So, after that unfortunately long-winded introduction, the reason I am asking for your help is that I need advice on how to accomplish my goal of improving this very lopsided POV page. I am interested in writing good, fair, text, and not in waging battles with juvenile POV-warriors. But since it seems impossible these days to contribute to WP by simply writing good text, I need advice on how to proceed. I have no experience with dispute resolution or trying to get other editors involved. How can I get a fair, NPOV appraisal of the changes I believe are desperately needed on this page and put a stop to the abuses that have been on-going?
Thank you, Jgui 16:09, 18 May 2007 (UTC)
OK, you suggested the "mediation cabal". My concern is that these editors chew up tremendous amounts of time with mediation (I observed that with the editor csloat whose statement throwing in the towel I referenced above) - and is it binding, or would they just move back in a week later and undo everything that had been agreed to? You said I would need their approval to send it to mediation - what if they refuse? If you think that is the way to go, could you suggest how to go about that would waste as little time as possible? And could you help me understand the politics of such a thing? Finally, are user pages the best way for the two of us to communicate, or would email be better? Thank you, Jgui 02:48, 19 May 2007 (UTC)
