Request Article Critique[edit]

  1. I tried to create my first Article: Wikipedia_talk:Articles_for_creation/Gaylord_Discovery_Center. The Article was now declined twice, once for lack of Notability and once for appearing to be an advertisement. I used comparable Articles as examples of content and format, Impression 5 Science Center, Ann Arbor Hands-On Museum, and Flint Children's Museum. I feel the Article I created was more complete and supported while maintaining a Neutral view, than the examples. Clearly not, as the editors declined the article. I would love suggestions on how to better fit Neutrality and Notability.Mehkael (talk) 00:49, 3 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
One important tip: a subject's Web site should never be a source for a subject's article. Try taking out the references to their site, and then either find reliable sources to reference instead, or remove that content. You may also find WP:OSE worth reading. Wow that was fast! Can any references be made to subject's documents? Clearly they should be kept to a minimum, and perhaps I overdid it, but I thought there were sufficient additional reliable sources. Again especially in comparison to examples. ThanksMehkael (talk) 01:02, 3 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Oops. Responded before reading OSE. will stop OSE...Mehkael (talk) 01:05, 3 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I have checked the submission - just needs more independent sources really. Mdann52 (talk) 10:08, 3 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
