Your Edit at Apollo

[edit]

Hello. I've reverted your edit at Apollo (here) since it resulted in (among other problems) considerable duplication of content. Paul August 12:06, 26 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@ Thank you, I was trying to fix the duplications but every time I delete some of them, some other appeared. Maybe because IE is not compatible.Michael Nicht
You're welcome. Paul August 12:50, 26 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Warning: "Edit warring" at Temple of Hephaestus

[edit]

I happened to notice that you are in an "edit war" with Tajotep, at Temple of Hephaestus (please read Wikipedia:Edit warring). Such actions could lead to your being blocked from editing, by an administrator (like myself). Rather than continuing to insist on your version, what you need to do is discuss and gain consensus for your proposed changes on that page's talkpage (here). Thanks, Paul August 12:59, 26 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@ Tajotep is a wiki-person that you cannot discuss with. His words was:
- "WE don't need more images".
- (ok, but)frwiki has 13 photos, dewiki 9 photos, espwiki 7 photos and enwiki 6 photos (including my 2 photos), not much for such a great Monument.
- "Rules are different in each wiki".
- (I searched and didn't find "the different rules for enwiki", but instead I find a lot of pages with many-many fotos.
in Temple of Apollo he deleted 2 Apollo's photos I added, saying "By the moment, unnecessary image...",but he did not delete the "The Sphinx of the Naxians" that is located next to the Temple of Apollo !!!!!!!!!
Prejudice is what describes him/her best...
Anyway, you can block me from editing (with my permission), nothing have to lose from it.
Thank you !!! Michael Nicht
I also appreciate you Michael. Well, "wiki-person that you cannot discuss with"... of course you can discuss with me, but you didn't. I can't explain all I want in the edit summaries, so what you had to do when I first reverted your edit is to write on my talk page or in the article talk page. That's all. Greetings. Stop icon with clock
You have been blocked temporarily from editing for edit warring and violating the three-revert rule. Once the block has expired, you are welcome to make useful contributions.
During a dispute, you should first try to discuss controversial changes and seek consensus. If that proves unsuccessful, you are encouraged to seek dispute resolution, and in some cases it may be appropriate to request page protection.
If you think there are good reasons for being unblocked, please read the guide to appealing blocks, then add the following text below the block notice on your talk page: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.  Deor (talk) 03:33, 27 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@ What if I change my mind about using a CC license? https://creativecommons.org/faq/#what-if-i-change-my-mind-about-using-a-cc-license As a licensor, you may stop distributing under the CC license at any time, but anyone who has access to a copy of the material may continue to redistribute it under the CC license terms. That means, as a copyright holder I have full right on my content and can change the cc license for my content anytime. But then I can’t stop anyone who is using my previous version of license unless they are violating the terms of the license.

I'm sorry but I think you do not understand how the cc license works. Quoting from the link you provided: "CC licenses are not revocable". Yes as you say: "As a licensor, you may stop distributing under the CC license at any time", but all that means is you are under no obligation to provide additional copies of your content, but nevertheless as you quote: "anyone who has access to a copy of the material may continue to redistribute it under the CC license terms", which means that, since Wikipedia already has access to your content, we can continue to use it. I'm sorry if you misunderstood this when you uploaded those images, but that's the situation.
So that's the legality of the situation. But I have to ask why did you change your mind, about making these images available to Wikipedia? Is it simply because some editors disagreed with some of your edits? You can't expect that every editor will agree with all of your edits. Wikipedia works by WP:Consensus (please read). Paul August 15:00, 27 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@you have to delete my photos and upload again the copy you have and redistribute it under the CC license terms. the problem here is you have NO RULES. The one editor deletes all photos, another one keeps some of the photos that the previous one has deleting. The reasoning they claim is either selfish-one or Katolophyromai / "to cry, lament so much"...
you delete Apollo's photo :
- Paul August==> This image is just a detail from the next image, and adds nothing useful...
- Michael Nicht==> the page has 3 details of Belvedere, 3 Pythons ,4 Marsyas, 3 kouros,1 copy from Olympia,… and the detail from the only Original statue… adds nothing!!!
- Katolophyromai==> The image you keep adding is literally just a slightly cropped version of the exact same image that is directly below it. The other representations you mention are different depictions of the same scene by different artists, all of which differ from each other drastically. The only exception is that there is indeed one detail of the Apollo Belvedere, but that can be excused because it is from a slightly different angle, is much later in the article, and the Belvedere is probably the most famous
Tajotep delete both my photos from «Temple of Hephaestus»:
- Tajotep==> "WE don't need more images".
- Michael Nicht==> (ok, but)frwiki has 13 photos, dewiki 9 photos, espwiki 7 photos and enwiki 6 photos (including my 2 photos), not much for such a great Monument.
- Tajotep==> "Rules are different in each wiki".
- Paul August==> agree with Tajotep, please stop......[BUT you keep the one image in another paragraph]
- Katolophyromai==> Why did you remove this image? This one is perfectly fine.
