Your user page, User:Motobit GmbH/sandbox, has been speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This was done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appeared to be advertising which only promoted or publicized someone or something. Promotional editing of any kind is not permitted, whether it be promotion of a person, company, product, group, service, belief, or anything else. This is a violation of our policies regarding acceptable use of user pages — user pages are intended for active editors of Wikipedia to communicate with one another as part of the process of creating encyclopedic content, and should not be mistaken for free webhosting resources or advertising space. Please read the guidelines on spam, the guidelines on user pages, and, especially, our FAQ for Organizations.

Please do not recreate the material without addressing these concerns, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Your account has been indefinitely blocked from editing because your account has been used for advertising or promotion, which is contrary to the purpose of Wikipedia. Also, your username indicates that the account represents a business, organisation, group, or web site, which is against the username policy.

If you intend to make useful contributions instead of promoting your business or organization, you may request unblock and a username change. In your reasons, you must:

  • Disclose any compensation you may receive for your contributions in accordance with the paid-contribution disclosure requirement.
  • Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the kind of edits for which you were blocked.
  • Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked.
  • Provide a new username.

To do this, post the text {{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with your new username and replace the text "Your reason here" with your reasons to be unblocked.

Please note that the new username you choose cannot already be taken and in use by another account. You can go here to search and see if the username you'd like to choose is available. If the search returns that no global account with that username exists, that means it is available to be taken.

Appeals: If, after reviewing the guide to appealing blocks, you believe this block was made in error, you may appeal it by adding the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your reason here" with the reasons you believe the block was an error, and publish the page. 331dot (talk) 08:32, 6 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

The logo of your company was improperly uploaded to Commons and claimed as your own personal work; this would make the logo available for anyone to sell as long as attribution was provided, and your company would not be entitled to any money from the sale of its logo. Logos cannot be on Commons and cannot be in drafts, as they are "non-free" images in terms of copyright. Logos must be uploaded to this Wikipedia locally and claimed as fair use, not as your personal work. 331dot (talk) 08:35, 6 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

This user's request to be unblocked to request a change in username has been reviewed by an administrator, who declined the request. Other administrators may also review this block, but should not override the decision without a good reason (see the blocking policy). Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Requested username:

Request reason:

As an avid motorcyclist I wanted to know more about Motobit since I discovered them a while ago, but found no information on Wikipedia. It is not my intention to promote them, but I wanted to let also other readers know more about what they do since Wikipedia is the best place to go to receive trustworthy information about companies as well. It was my mistake to take the username of the company and not my intention to get blocked. I have no connection to them and what they're doing. Motobit GmbH (talk) 08:50, 6 July 2023 (UTC)

Decline reason:

Your contributions were blatantly inappropriate for an encyclopedia. You don't seem to understand this so we can't trust you to write about other subject areas. Additionally, you here deny having any connection to them but, as pointed out below, you've previously claimed to personally own the copyright to their logo. Either you were lying then or you are lying now. Yamla (talk) 09:59, 6 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

So you claimed their logo as your own work and used the formal name of the company as your username even though you don't work for them? I just want to understand if that's what you are saying. "I wanted to let also other readers know more about what they do " is the definition of promotion whether you work for them or not. Wikipedia is not a mere information repository and is not a place to merely document the existence of a company, it summarizes what independent reliable sources state about a topic such as a company, showing how it meets the special definition of a notable company. 331dot (talk) 08:53, 6 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry, that was my fault as well. It was my impression to state the logo as the work of Motobit which is why I selected the clearly (I understand it now) aknowledgement/name. Sure, I was just a little puzzled why there is a page for (example) Garmin but nothing about them, which is why I created the article. As I would like to add value and information to Wikipedia myself, I am kindly asking you to give me another chance. I appologize for the mixup and hope for your support and kindness. Motobit GmbH (talk) 09:23, 6 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Someone else will review your request, but please see other stuff exists; each article or draft is considered on its own merits and not based on the existence of other articles(which could also have problems that you would be unaware of as a new user, though probably the Garmin article doesn't). Not every company merits a Wikipedia article, even within the same field- the vast majority of companies do not. 331dot (talk) 09:29, 6 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
