MUSYCA

[edit]

I noticed that you moved a draft article waiting for review to main article space before anyone could review it. It is far from ready for publication in main space. Therefore, I have moved your article to Draft:MUSYCA Children's Choir.

Most of the citations aren't relevant to the topic. Please see WP:Golden rule to get an idea of what we expect to see before an article is accepted. Thanks. ~Anachronist (talk) 15:33, 14 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Mandatory paid editing disclosure

[edit]
Information icon

Hello Musicsinging. The nature of your edits gives the impression you have an undisclosed financial stake in promoting a topic, but you have not complied with Wikipedia's mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. Paid advocacy is a category of conflict of interest (COI) editing that involves being compensated by a person, group, company or organization to use Wikipedia to promote their interests. Undisclosed paid advocacy is prohibited by our policies on neutral point of view and what Wikipedia is not, and is an especially serious type of COI; the Wikimedia Foundation regards it as a "black hat" practice akin to black-hat search-engine optimization.

Paid advocates are very strongly discouraged from direct article editing, and should instead propose changes on the talk page of the article in question if an article exists. If the article does not exist, paid advocates are extremely strongly discouraged from attempting to write an article at all. At best, any proposed article creation should be submitted through the articles for creation process, rather than directly.

Regardless, if you are receiving or expect to receive compensation for your edits, broadly construed, you are required by the Wikimedia Terms of Use to disclose your employer, client and affiliation. You can post such a mandatory disclosure to your user page at User:Musicsinging. The template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: {{paid|user=Musicsinging|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}. If I am mistaken – you are not being directly or indirectly compensated for your edits – please state that in response to this message. Otherwise, please provide the required disclosure. In either case, do not edit further until you answer this message. ~Anachronist (talk) 20:36, 23 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

You chose to ignore the message above and continued to edit anyway. Therefore:

Not a paid contributor. Just editing as a hobby. Musicsinging (talk) 06:45, 31 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Decline reason:

Wikipedia is not a platform to merely share information or share personal knowledge; Wikipedia summarizes what independent reliable sources state. I am unwilling to unblock you without your answer to the questions I posted below. You are welcome to make a new request for someone else to review and see if they will unblock you without providing those answers. 331dot (talk) 19:04, 3 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

What is your connection to the MUSYCA Children's Choir? 331dot (talk) 08:33, 31 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I follow this artist's blog and new music releases. I hope you can unblock my account soon. I'd like to continue making useful, unpaid contributions to Wikipedia.
What contributions do you want to make? Would you agree to not directly edit about MUSYCA(making edit requests on the talk page)? 331dot (talk) 19:13, 1 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I am submitting this request to unblock because I am not a paid contributor and all the edits I made and will make are done in good faith to share my knowledge and provide new information.

You did not answer the question above. It seems pretty clear that you have an association with MUSYCA beyond simply being a fan. You have inserted material that could not be attributed to a source, and added links to promotional press releases, suggesting that you own or work for the organization in some capacity. You haven't agreed that you will stop editing the MUSYCA article, and instead propose changes on the talk page. ~Anachronist (talk) 20:58, 3 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Please be more specific: what areas of Wikipedia would you contribute to? only (talk) 02:50, 13 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I will contribute to a variety of areas, including arts and music.

Your contributions so far to those areas have consisted mostly of promoting MUSYCA, both directly and indirectly by adding external links that mention MUSYCA. Do you understand that is not acceptable? ~Anachronist (talk) 21:56, 14 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I added the links because the page you mentioned displayed a request for more citations at the top of the page.

@Rosguill: Although this user gives every appearance of being a paid editor, I accept that they may be a volunteer member of the organization. It is pretty obvious that there is a conflict of interest. As the blocking administrator, I am OK with unblocking, subject to conditions that the editor hasn't fully agreed to yet, only agreeing to cease contributing to the MUSYCA page, but not actually answering the original request to cease editing about MUSYCA, which includes edits to other pages that may be related. ~Anachronist (talk) 23:32, 21 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Anachronist, those conditions seem fine by me if this editor chooses to accept them. signed, Rosguill talk 23:37, 21 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

This is likely going to be your last chance at an appeal on-wiki; you were given a pathway to being unblocked by Anachronist, are you explicitly rejecting it? 331dot (talk) 09:24, 22 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
