Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, one or more of the external links you added to the page Canada basketball do not comply with our guidelines for external links and have been removed. Wikipedia is not a collection of links; nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Since Wikipedia uses nofollow tags, external links do not alter search engine rankings. If you feel the link should be added to the article, please discuss it on the article's talk page before reinserting it. Please take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia.

Your edit here was reverted by an automated bot that attempts to remove unwanted links and spam from Wikipedia. If you were trying to insert a good link, please accept my creator's apologies, but note that the external link you added or changed is on my list of links to remove and probably shouldn't be included in Wikipedia.
The external links I reverted were matching the following regex rule(s): rule: '\bbasketball\.ca' (link(s): http://www.basketball.ca/en/hm/) .
Please read Wikipedia's external links guideline for more information, and consult my list of frequently-reverted sites. For more information about me, see my FAQ page. Thanks! XLinkBot (talk) 01:20, 12 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Image Copyright problem
Image Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading Image:Nash13.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, we also need to know the terms of the license that the copyright holder has published the image under, usually done by adding a licensing tag. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 19:40, 31 January 2009 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Mosmof (talk) 19:40, 31 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Your image uploads

[edit]

Thank you for uploading the images for various Canadian basketball players. Unfortunately, all of the images appear to have been taken from elsewhere on the web, and images found on the web are almost always copyrighted. As such, they cannot be used on Wikipedia and must be deleted. Please take the time to read Wikipedia:Image use policy and I'd be happy to answer any questions. --Mosmof (talk) 20:04, 31 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on JR Patrick, by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because JR Patrick is unquestionably copyright infringement, and no assertion of permission has been made.

To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting JR Patrick, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to contact the bot operator if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself. Welcome

Welcome!

Hello, Mystro88, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are some pages that you might find helpful:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your messages on discussion pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically insert your username and the date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or ask your question on this page and then place {{helpme}} before the question. Again, welcome! Personal Note: I see you're trying to contribute to the article Vancouver. It's clear you know many of the basics such as adding internal links and how to bold text. You should example the template {{cite web}} when referencing material. Also it should be noted that in articles, bolded text is only used to highlight the first mention of the article topic. As you will see in the article Vancouver, only 'Vancouver' is bolded in the entire article. The links above describe the various conventions used in writing Wikipedia articles. If you have any questions, feel free to ask on my talk page. Mkdwtalk 07:56, 5 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not replace Wikipedia pages with blank content, as you did to J.R. Patrick. Blank pages are harmful to Wikipedia because they have a tendency to confuse readers. If it is a duplicate article, please redirect it to an appropriate existing page. If the page has been vandalised, please revert it to the last legitimate version. If you feel that the content of a page is inappropriate, please edit the page and replace it with appropriate content. If you believe there is no hope for the page, please see the deletion policy for how to proceed. Oliver Fury, Esq. message • contributions 00:03, 6 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The recent edit you made to the page Brian Rayment constitutes vandalism, and has been reverted. Please do not continue to make unconstructive edits to pages; use the sandbox for testing. Thank you. Oliver Fury, Esq. message • contributions 00:06, 6 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for uploading File:EnergyLOGO.JPG. You've indicated that the image is being used under a claim of fair use, but you have not provided an adequate explanation for why it meets Wikipedia's requirements for such images. In particular, for each page the image is used on, the image must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Can you please check

  • That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's description page for each article the image is used in.
  • That every article it is used on is linked to from its description page.

Thank you for your contributions. One of your recent contributions to Katts and Dog has been reverted or removed, because it contains speculative or unconfirmed information about a future event. Wikipedia has a policy called Wikipedia is not a crystal ball, which discourages such edits. Please only add material about future events if it is verifiable, ideally by reference to a reliable source. Thank you. Dl2000 (talk) 03:51, 27 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Removing Speedy at Andrew Parker (athlete)

[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. It might not have been your intention, but you removed a speedy deletion tag from Andrew Parker (athlete), a page you have created yourself. If you do not believe the page should be deleted, you can place a {{hangon}} tag on the page, under the existing speedy deletion tag (please do not remove the speedy deletion tag), and make your case on the page's talk page. Administrators will look at your reasoning before deciding what to do with the page. Thank you. - SDPatrolBot (talk) 03:47, 1 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
