Hypothetical synthesis premature?[edit]

hi. I think there is some good information in your new section about Synthesis. But I wonder if the hypothetical unproven material may be premature for an encyclopedia. How do you feel about inserting the following part of your stuff in the History section, right after "team from Selcia": Teixobactin is an 11-residue, cyclic depsipeptide with several unusual features, including four D-amino acids, a methylated phenylalanine, and the non- proteinogenic amino acid enduracididine.[1] Layzeeboi (talk) 05:11, 10 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

  • Sorry, I meant to also add at the end: "The discoverers have proposed a possible approach to synthesize it." Layzeeboi (talk) 05:19, 10 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]
    • Maybe it isn't clear enough, but the section I added is the proposed mechanism for how E. terrae naturally produces the compound, not artificial synthesis. There really isn't any doubt that the study correctly identified the nonribosomal peptide synthetases involved. I suppose the mechanism steps could be removed for being too speculative, but still, History somehow doesn't seem like an appropriate section to move it to. • What if we merged the info you suggested with "Mechanism of activity" into one "Structure and mechanism of action" section? Mythomane (talk) 06:38, 10 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]
    • Sorry, I did misunderstand-- silly me. I withdraw my proposal, but I just now reworded slightly for clarity, I hope. Thanks! Layzeeboi (talk) 07:55, 10 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]
      • Yes, your rewording is good I think. Evidently clarification was needed! Mythomane (talk) 08:02, 10 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Chembox[edit]

I saw you added {{Chembox}} to Methylene cyclopropyl acetic acid. Do you have a boilerplate template for that? If so, pls tell me (here) which one because I might want to make changes. Some parameters are getting deprecated. -DePiep (talk) 19:36, 5 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]
