Ouachita orogeny

[edit]

Hi, I noticed you wrote Ouachita orogeny, which was one of the missing articles of Wikipedia:WikiProject Missing encyclopedic articles/Hot/O. Just letting you know that there's also Ouachita Geosyncline (or Ouachita geosyncline), apparently "a linear trough in the Earth's crust in which rocks of the Paleozoic Era (from 225000000 to 570000000 years ago) were deposited". Just in case you desperately look for a topic to write about next ;-) --Magnus Manske 22:27, 14 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I am still working on that article

[edit]

Hi, I am still working on that article. I just came to a save point and saw edit conflict message. Is there something that bothers you about what I have written? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Ronbo76 (talkcontribs) 19:57, 21 January 2007 Ronbo76

Looks like we both chose to work on the article at the same time. I saw an interim save after I got the conflict save message. Now it looks like what I was working on. You want first dibs on it? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Ronbo76 (talkcontribs) 19:54, 21 January 2007 Ronbo76
Sorry, I never knew. But I am finished editing that article. I just noticed that the article has expanded so I added some info. M&NCenarius 03:59, 22 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Not a problem. At first I thought maybe someone had reverted it thinking an idiot vandal was at work. I am doing some work for the CA ranchos project with WP:CAL. It looks like you did a better job with the headers. What are the chances we should both choose to work on the Verdugo Mountains at the same time?— Preceding unsigned comment added by Ronbo76 (talkcontribs) 20:03, 21 January 2007 Ronbo76
PS: Have fun editing! :) M&NCenarius 04:13, 22 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I just finished. I lost one of my windows on the geology of the range and will have to look it up again. It was my problem as after I copied what I needed, I closed the window; pasted in the article and then went for the save. Only, I was out at third base by a mile at Chavez Ravine. There are some articles pasted on the article's talkpage (mostly about the ranch stuff I am working on. The last paragraph has rough coordinates. I was going to figure out a geolink wiki tag to tie in the range to Wikimapia. Take a look at the page and see what you think. Happy trails to you. Ronbo76 04:25, 22 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
It looks fine. Just a month ago, Verdugo mountains article was a stub; thanks again for the expansion. I added some intro from Fpo sandbox. M&NCenarius 04:31, 22 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Your edit caused me to look at another article Transverse Ranges which I just wikified. Looks like I got 2Fer tonight. What is the Fpo sandbox?  :) Ronbo76 04:32, 22 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
This. A project about Verdugo Mountains. Nobody has edited it for a year now. M&NCenarius 04:34, 22 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
You just reminded me that I had forgotten to link the governor. Now the article looks great with all the links. I am really glad we got it out of stub status. If you get a chance, you should plug in more of the geology, flora, fauna and references. Ronbo76 04:39, 22 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I just plugged in the geology. You plug in the references as sources and the article should be all set (but I still would go with flora and fauna). I like the geo stuff!!! Ronbo76 04:52, 22 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Ok, and also, I love geology too! M&NCenarius 04:55, 22 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I lied. I just put in the first source for the geo stuff. The article looks great now! It is almost Start Class. Ronbo76 04:56, 22 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
The article might even reach GA status if a little more information is added. M&NCenarius 04:59, 22 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
You slay me! I was thinking Mid or Top. Anything in the sandbox for Chavez Ravine - I can't believe that article is a couple of paragraphs. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Ronbo76 (talkcontribs) 21:03, 21 January 2007 Ronbo76
Verdugo sub-pages, such as Verdugo Peak, needs to be created. :) M&NCenarius 05:10, 22 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I knew it should have been rated Top!!! Looks like we took an ugly stick and whomped it into shape. Bravo! Get someone else to re-rate it in a week or so from your project. Ronbo76 05:23, 22 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I hope we can reach the Verdugo Mountains article into an FA status. M&NCenarius 06:25, 22 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Let me take a stab at that article. Ronbo76 06:28, 23 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Please revert Shadow Hills, Los Angeles, California if you don't like my changes. I linked some terms. Some of statements need citations like the mistake statement. References and sources would be nice with expansion if available, i.e., what the grassroots group called today. Ronbo76 06:33, 23 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
It looks fine. :-) M&NCenarius 06:36, 23 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Unspecified source for Image:Rodinia2.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Rodinia2.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, then you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, then their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self-no-disclaimers}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{Non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 21:14, 3 March 2007 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Fritz S. (Talk) 21:14, 3 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Bird

[edit]

Apologies for reverting without explanation. The standard taxobox for all bird articles has regnum, phylum, classis, ordo, familia, genus, species. Although editors have added various infra/super etc bits at various times, the consensus has been to keep it lean, and these has been removed. Unless I've missed something, I assume the same applies to bird. I think it's just coincidence that it was me both times -this page must be on a lot of watchlists. jimfbleak 06:24, 21 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Stubs

[edit]

Many of your recent edits have been to move a stub tag from near the end of an article to the end. While this may be recommended, it often has no visual effect whatsoever, and making such minor changes alone is strongly discouraged, largely because of the extra load on the servers. Please consider not editing articles unless you have more substantive changes to make. --Stemonitis 08:00, 29 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
