Hello, I notice that you recently created a new page, Surf excel matic. First, thank you for your contribution; Wikipedia relies solely on the efforts of volunteers such as yourself. Unfortunately, the page you created covers a topic on which we already have a page - Surf (detergent). Because of the duplication, your article has been tagged for speedy deletion. Please note that this is not a comment on you personally and we hope you will continue helping to improve Wikipedia. If the topic of the article you created is one that interests you, then perhaps you would like to help out at Surf (detergent) - you might like to discuss new information at the article's talk page.

If you think that the article you created should remain separate, contest the deletion by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". Doing so will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. Additionally if you would like to have someone review articles you create before they go live so they are not nominated for deletion shortly after you post them, allow me to suggest the article creation process and using our search feature to find related information we already have in the encyclopedia. Try not to be discouraged. Wikipedia looks forward to your future contributions. AndrewWTaylor (talk) 17:20, 14 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

{{Help me}} The article in question Surf excel matic covers about the brand that is Surf Excel Matic and it has a separate identity. Although a part of the Surf family (Unilever). The brand mentioned in the article in question talks about a brand available in India, and the perspective that was intended in the article was to talk about it. The article that it has been redirected to Surf (detergent) does not talk about it (wouldn't be apt ). Kindly consider and do allow the page to exist. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Nellerism (talk • contribs) 08:01, 2 December 2011 (UTC)

As far as I can see "Surf excel matic" is a type of Surf detergent. You have not given any reason why it is notable enough to warrant a separate article: you have merely said "wouldn't be apt", with no explanation why it wouldn't. JamesBWatson (talk) 18:15, 2 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

There is an article on Surf Excel and it has a separate existence on Wikipedia, no one has lined it up for deletion, the article named Surf Excel Matic though gives details of the quantity in gms/Kgs which cannot be incorporated in the surf page because these things pertain to the way it is sold in India. That is the reason why i had put it as "wouldn be apt". Kindly consider! nellerism

Ok, so let's take the question back one - *Why* does the fact that it is a brand sold in India prohibit it from being mentioned on the Surf (detergent) page? Are "gms/Kgs" not allowed to be mentioned there? Is there a rule anywhere that India can't be mentioned on that page? In fact, Surf Excel already has a one-line mention on that page. I'm afraid you really will need to give us a better explanation of your reasoning and of why this specific brand is notable in its own right -- Boing! said Zebedee (talk) 23:07, 6 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I've also had a closer look at your original version now, and I really don't think any of it has any encyclopedic importance - it just seems to have a couple of marketing claims, and a list of the size of the packages -- Boing! said Zebedee (talk) 23:09, 6 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

So, can Surf (Detergent) & Surf Excel exist as 2 different articles because they clearly do exist on Wikipedia. Please have a read and tell me why an information page on surf excel matic cannot exist, also if it cannot kindly advise how i could incorporate the info on Surf Excel Matic else where on Wikipedia. Thank You!61.12.29.234 (talk) 04:45, 9 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. If you think they should exist as different articles, you should start a discussion on Talk:Surf (detergent). If there's agreement. fine. Or, be bold. Just keep talking to others, and accept notability guidelines. If the product has significant coverage, then sure - go for it.  Chzz  ►  05:13, 9 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, Surf (detergent) seems like the obvious place to expand on that specific product or to discuss whatever it is you want to do (including the possibility of breaking it out as a separate article - though I would not suggest boldly creating it again, as you have already tried that and had it redirected). Anything you propose *must* be supported by reliable sources that attest to sufficient notability. Wikipedia is not a product directory, and does not carry lists of packaging sizes for all of the world's products - and it does not carry marketing statements -- Boing! said Zebedee (talk) 13:13, 9 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The article in question was deleted on 2 sections G11 & A7

G11. Unambiguous advertising or promotion. Pages that are exclusively promotional, and would need to be fundamentally rewritten to become encyclopedic. Note: An article about a company or a product which describes its subject from a neutral point of view does not qualify for this criterion. "Promotion" does not necessarily mean commercial promotion: anything can be promoted, including a person, a non-commercial organisation, a point of view, etc.

The details that i entered were very basic with a neutral tone and wasn't intended on promoting....i have attached reference also of where i have got the information from. It just has basic details of a company and isnt promotional

A7: A7. No indication of importance (individuals, animals, organizations, web content, events). An article about a real person, individual animal(s), organization, web content or organized event that does not indicate why its subject is important or significant, with the exception of educational institutions.[4] This is distinct from verifiability and reliability of sources, and is a lower standard than notability. This criterion applies only to articles about web content and to articles about people, organizations, and individual animals themselves, not to articles about their books, albums, software, or other creative works. This criterion does not apply to species of animals, only to individual animal(s). The criterion does not apply to any article that makes any credible claim of significance or importance even if the claim is not supported by a reliable source or does not qualify on Wikipedia's notability guidelines. The criterion does apply if the claim of significance or importance given is not credible. If the claim's credibility is unclear, you can improve the article yourself, propose deletion, or list the article at articles for deletion. {{db-a7}}, {{db-person}} – for people, {{db-band}} – for bands, {{db-club}} – for clubs, societies and groups, {{db-inc}} – for companies, corporations and organizations, {{db-web}} – for websites, {{db-animal}} – for individual animals, {{db-event}} - for events It is irrelevant whether the claim of notability within the article is not sufficient for the notability guidelines. If the claim is credible, the A7 tag can not be applied. Often what seems non-notable to a new page patroller is shown to be notable in a deletion discussion.

The article is intended on giving information about a company that has come up with an interesting new enterprise social networking system which i thought was interesting and would be of fancy of otheres . Its called Uknowva. Felt it worth sharing.

If you think if i could write it better, please provide inputs.
