A belated welcome![edit]

Sorry for the belated welcome, but the cookies are still warm!

Here's wishing you a belated welcome to Wikipedia, Nikkirh. I see that you've already been around a while and wanted to thank you for your contributions. Though you seem to have been successful in finding your way around, you may benefit from following some of the links below, which help editors get the most out of Wikipedia:

Also, when you post on talk pages you should sign your name using four tildes (~~~~); that should automatically produce your username and the date after your post.

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! If you have any questions, feel free to leave me a message on my talk page, consult Wikipedia:Questions, or place {{helpme}} on your talk page and ask your question there.

Again, welcome! —k6ka 🍁 (Talk · Contributions) 16:09, 24 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

You have been blocked indefinitely from editing, because this account has been used only for advertising or promotion, which is contrary to Wikipedia's content policy. Also, your username indicates that the account represents a business or other organisation or group, which is against Wikipedia's policy: an account is for an individual, not a group. Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, not a free advertising service.

If you intend to make useful contributions about some topic other than your business or organisation, you may request an unblock. To do so, post the text {{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}} at the bottom of this page. Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with a new username you are willing to use. See Special:CentralAuth to search for available usernames. Your new username will need to meet our username policy. Replace the text "Your reason here" with your reason to be unblocked. In this reason, you must:

  • Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the kind of edits for which you were blocked.
  • Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked.
If you believe this block was made in error, you may appeal this block by adding the text {{unblock|Your reason here}} below, but you should read the guide to appealing blocks first. Alexf(talk) 14:47, 20 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]
This user's request to be unblocked to request a change in username has been reviewed by an administrator, who declined the request. Other administrators may also review this block, but should not override the decision without a good reason (see the blocking policy). Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Requested username:

Request reason:

I understand that we were blocked as it was thought that the account was created for advertising and promotion of the business which I now understand is against Wikipedia's terms and conditions. Now that I understand this I will not make the same mistake again. If unblocked, I intend to create and edit pages based around my core interest of music, including the artists that I am interested and the instruments that are used to create this music.

Decline reason:

It's not clear that you understand how our notability policy works here. Wikipedia is not free webhosting for non-notable bands. OhNoitsJamie Talk 16:51, 20 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

I do fully understand the mistakes that were made in creating the article and would like the chance to rectify them going forward. The page was not created as promotion and simply serves to state facts in a similar way to other Wikipedia pages that we have seen, all statements were also fully backed up with reliable sources. I do realise that some of the links were written by Horus Music and therefore may not be seen as impartial and so would remove these and change the wording of the article to reflect this. I would like to create other pages as stated and after readying the notability page that you provided a link to I now feel that I am in a much better position to do so and will ensure to fully complete my research so that I meet all of the guidelines that have been set out.

Accept reason:

Allowing username change to requested username. Please put this request in at Wikipedia:Changing username as soon as possible to avoid re-blocking. Ritchie333 (talk) (cont) 15:15, 24 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]
A few press releases and some minor coverage in non-notable industry websites does not address WP:CORP notability. OhNoitsJamie Talk 21:00, 20 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Here are a few key questions:

You are currently blocked because your username appears directly related to a company, group or product that you have been promoting, contrary to the username policy. Changing the username will not allow you to violate the 3 important principles above. PhilKnight (talk) 23:04, 22 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]
