Conquest of Mecca

[edit]

Hello my friend, your new information certainly looks likely to add a lot qualitatively to this page, but it wasn't in my view referenced as strongly as it could be. Some paragraphs seemed to go without citations. Sorry to revert you at this stage, but I'm sure you can remedy this. I would do it myself, but I would rather not interfere in the way you sare going about it. Sincere respect for you as an editor, George Custer's Sabre (talk) 05:48, 13 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Sure. Can you suggest which paragraphs? Noel Malik (talk) 21:11, 13 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

For what? I literally just started writing this article which was in the request list, last night. I even left a message on the article talk page that I'm still working on it. Do you want me to finish it in one night? Calm down buddy and remove this rubbish. Noel Malik (talk) 00:01, 23 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Responding to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion

[edit]

When you are commenting on AFD pages, the place to post is the AFD page, not the AFD talk page. In this case Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Culture of rice is where you should comment. I have twice moved you comments from the AFD talk page to the AFD page. If you want, you can of course revert. By putting your comments in the correct place, it ensures that other editors participating in the AFD discussion see your comments.-- Toddy1 (talk) 22:29, 23 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Replacing a whole article with unsourced content is not helpful Joseph2302 (talk) 16:06, 18 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Why so? I believe that it was a minor change that made it clearer and easier for the average reader to comprehend. Noel Malik (talk) 18:38, 20 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
One of the problems your edit introduced was that you added wikilinks for months and sometimes for years. This is known as overlinking.
Another obvious difference is that your version had one citation, whereas the previous version had eleven. That was not constructive change.
It was not a minor edit. "Minor edit" has a very specific definition on Wikipedia—it refers only to superficial edits that could never be the subject of a dispute, such as correcting typographical errors or reverting obvious vandalism. Deleting most of the citations is not a minor edit. Changing the paragraph structure is not either. Please see Help:Minor edit for more information. Thank you.-- Toddy1 (talk) 03:28, 21 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
